best songs which start with '1.2.3 4!!!'

I say Holland, 1945.

and also some Ramones songs.

yeah, go?

gmku 02.16.2008 10:28 AM

Have you heard the live Ramones record It's Alive? They start almost every song with 1,2,3,4. It's insane.

There's Roadrunner by the Modern Lovers, but I think it starts off more like, "1,2,3,4,5,6..."

Trasher02 02.16.2008 11:03 AM

Does Warsaw by Joy Division count too?

LittlePuppetBoy 02.16.2008 11:10 AM

Mommy Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?-the Misfits

Phlegmscope 02.16.2008 11:32 AM

Apparently The Gerogerigegege has a song that starts with the usual "1,2,3,4!" but then proceeds to the sound of a man taking a shit.

I haven't heard it though.

Everyneurotic 02.16.2008 11:38 AM

any song by the gerogerigegege.

batreleaser 02.16.2008 12:17 PM

pretty much all ramones tracks i guess. a lota hardcore bands did it live.

uhler 02.16.2008 01:23 PM

GrungeMonkey 02.16.2008 01:46 PM

i like on the last beck album, where a song starts with

"one, two you know what to do.."

fluxequalsrad 02.16.2008 01:56 PM

uhler 02.16.2008 02:01 PM

actually now i think about he says that before a few songs.

StevOK 02.16.2008 03:52 PM

"Field Day Jitters" by Tripping Daisy starts out with a little random drumming, then someone clears their throat and says, "Let's do it!...1,2,3,4". Pretty awesome song.

SYRFox 02.16.2008 03:54 PM

Sonic Youth - Queen Anne Chair

This track's really great, it deserves more attention imo

Torn Curtain 02.16.2008 04:32 PM

That's not my favorite Stooges song but the intro to Shake appeal rocks.

Cantankerous 02.16.2008 04:37 PM

"free four" - pink floyd
the title is actually a pun on 1234

fascist cops - the kids (no not johnny depp's band, they're some punk band from northern europe somewhere, maybe like denmark)

Yeah that's an awesome way to start an album. And I've heard Bright Eyes go "one, two, six six six!!".

Norma J 02.16.2008 06:31 PM

Speaking of Bright Eyes, the first track on I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning counts off after his tale, 1,2, 1,2,3,4.

The whole lead up to that song is great, I laughed my head off in disbelief when I heard it. He's the greatest.

Norma J 02.16.2008 07:10 PM

He is something, for sure.

ZEROpumpkins 02.16.2008 08:01 PM

Numerous Pavement B-sides. Off the top of my head, a Range Life outtake.

"Okay... a-one... two... one two three four *range life*"

Death & the Maiden 02.16.2008 08:10 PM

Besides the obvious It's Alive album by the Ramones:
The Clash
The Saints
Beat On The Brat - Sonic Youth

Cantankerous 02.16.2008 08:11 PM

"chinese rocks" - johnny thunders & the heartbreakers
i think it does anyway, i'm not in the mood to listen to LAMF right now.

Death & the Maiden 02.16.2008 08:13 PM

Chinese Rocks - The Heartbreakers (With the Richard Hell vocal, from the Richard Hell best of).

Cantankerous 02.16.2008 08:34 PM

Subhumans Drugs of Youth

1 2 3 4 go

Get away from the window
The D.S. are outside
The little packets in our pockets
Stuff we gotta hide
Sitting in a corner of a disco
Mouth stuck in a bag
It's hard to fake the high intake
It turns your brain real bad
Crush a barb put it in a syringe
Stick it in your arm
Let the feeling crawl to your head
It won't do you no harm
Sniffing sulfate up my nose
Doing it for a joke
It makes the world spin so fast
Things go better with co

ZEROpumpkins 02.17.2008 11:57 PM

I'm sure there's a few Guided by Voices songs that start with a count in.

ArthurDoyleHandCream 02.18.2008 05:39 AM

Ooo Ooo possibly the greatest 1,2,3,4 starting to a song would be Poughkeepsie by Devendra Banhart.

therealglenstyler 02.18.2008 08:36 AM

all good i'm sure but ramones its alive has to be the one for me.

PAULYBEE2656 02.18.2008 08:38 AM
