I was telling this guy at work
about Evelyn Glennie yesterday
because -

- he's never heard of her.

When I was done, he said,
"Oh yeah? That's nothin';
I saw a blind guy
who could toss horse shoes."

This is why I hate
living in Kentucky.

the phrase "move yourself and save" implies that yr alone, "movin' yrself". but the picture at the hot springs show a guy and a chick, implying that yr with someone else, "movin' yrselves." i'm confused about the message here.

i was trying to figure out if they were talking about clubbing the baby seal or knockin' boots.... :D

Who is Evelyn Glennie?

She's an amazing percussionist who also happens to be deaf.

there is a pretty cool documentary about ms glennie that captures her and fred frith playing in this massive abandoned sugar factory.

This would only really apply if I were jealous.
Jealous of living somewhere I would rather not live for the sake of a "comfortable living," all the while telling others that a simple solution to their own geographic dissatisfaction is to uproot their lives and move elsewhere.

if this is an interpretation of my life, i'm not sure it's correct.

we came to new mexico for work/financial reasons-- gentrification was killing our chances in dc and we wanted no boss.

we were stuck in a rural place for 2 years while we got our shit together. now we're leaving!

anyway, i don't mind moving-- i've moved all my life. it's exciting.

while i was growing up we lived in 12 different places during the first 12 years of my parents' marriage. 12 houses & apartments, 2 countries, 3 different cities.

as my dad likes to say, if everyone would stay in the same place we'd all be stuck in africa.

eat my heart out? i love where i live. i wouldn't live anywhere else. i do like alb though, but if you're a DC sorta guy... i would think you'd be unhappy?

and we're okies. it's not OAKlahoma. it's OKlahoma. sayin'.

the wife moved around like that. he's lived everywhere. i think he's content in ok though.
