Some observations.
 

Evol is Sonic Youth's best 1980's album.

1999-2001 is Sonic Youth's worst time period.

The first three SYR's are the best.

Jim O'Rourke ruined NYC Ghosts and Flowers.

Goo and Dirty are both better than Sister.

Daydream Nation is overrated.

Most of the early Sonic Youth is not really as good as people say it is.

If anything 1992-1993 is the worst SY time period, but I would say that 1999-2001 comes close. Finally, Evol is good, however, Confusion is sex or Sister is the best SY album of the 1980's. Wow, wheter Daycare Nation wrote all this because they really feel that way, or if they wrote it to make people react, it really worked on a couple of you. Why must everyone get so pissy if somone posts that "Daydream Nation" is overrated, or that "Sister" sucks. Why must every SY fan have to feel the way the MAJORITY of SY fans think? Its one thing for every fan to post thier favorite SY album, but why must we feel the need to lamb-blast them for thinking that way? Isn't this no different then the "Unpopular Musical Opinons" thread? We can debate without making some posters feel unwelcomed.
