I'm planning on reading it.

thanks

Yeah, I rented it about 2 weeks ago. It was very good, although a little cheesy at times. The acting is great though. I also loved the "futuristic" set. The TVs are not unlike the flat screen HDTVs that are being produced today. I also heard they are remaking it (along with every other movie created in the 60s).

SonikJesus 05.09.2006 06:27 PM

I just checked out this movie caled Donnie Darko. It was pretty cool. Check out the website for the movie, it's weird. You have to unlock it and find out passwords to get in.

edit: Shouldn't this be in non-sonics?

claudezachary 05.09.2006 06:29 PM

Palindromes!!!!

Best new movie of this decade so far.

Society_In_My_Hole 05.09.2006 06:36 PM

You've probly have already seen these but Amelie(sp?) is really good and Dancer in the Dark. I had to watch that last night after listening to the soundtrack.

Donnie Darko is a great movie except the fact that like all the faggots in my school talk about it so I try to avoid conversation about it. Its great movie though with a great soundtrack. The opening scene of donnie awakening and then riding his bike into town with Echo and the bunneymen playing in the back is very cool.

I'd suggest a hallucinogen (or weed at the very least) instead of alcohol. The carpet, the lizard....want the ultimate freak-out? Do it my way.

Really? I had never heard of it until we had to watch it for my english class for post-modernism.

ShermanLoper 05.10.2006 02:43 AM

"Be Here To Love Me" which is a documentary on Townes Van Zandt. It has a bit of an interview with Steve Shelley in it (among others) and you get to learn about a cool songwriter with a tragic story.

Kallisti23chaos 05.10.2006 06:17 AM

alexandro Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain"

DemonBox 05.10.2006 06:25 AM

"The Motorcycle Diaries" is really great

thewall91 05.10.2006 06:32 AM

the motorcycle diaries kind of bored me.

if you must do subtitles, y tu mama tambien is a much better road movie. and city of god rules all.

space_monkey 05.10.2006 08:33 AM

space_monkey 05.10.2006 08:35 AM

all jim jarmush, david lynch movies you should watch!! and fight club ofkors!

Isoflurane 05.10.2006 09:20 AM

Stranger than Paradise.
Not only is Richard Edson in it, but it's a good ass movie as well.

SecretGirl13 05.10.2006 09:25 AM

welcome to the dollhouse--same director as palindromes

Well.... it was a good movie I thought, but falls short of "really great"

Movies on my "to watch" list: Fargo (seen it a few times, always good), Ascenceur pour l'Échafaud (Miles Davis sountrack, y'all!). And I'm trying to get a hold of Ken Park while I'm here in Europe, since it's not distributed (or banned????) in North America.

For a good movie while high, I really liked Elephant, all these long shots and all. Triumph of the will is also neat, and gives an insightful look into Nazi Germany

Well, i think it's a good film, with a good story. And I like the relaxed attitude of the film. Some of my friends think it's to slow, and there's not enough action, but i really like it.

DemonBox 05.10.2006 10:47 AM

yeah, thewall91, City Of God rules all.

I really like tarantino's work, and especially those you mentioned. I like Pulp Fiction best, a instant classic.

Everyneurotic 05.10.2006 11:10 AM

jackie brown never gets much love and it's fucking amazing film.

DemonBox 05.10.2006 11:14 AM

it's deeply underrated. i dont know why, it's better than Kill Bill in my humble opinion. i like the mood of the film, and how it caputres that 70's feeling. Or, i dont really know, i was not born in the 70s..

kingcoffee 05.10.2006 11:22 AM

A Clockwork Orange, Midnight Cowboy, Pi, Thi Is Spinal Tap, Trainspotting, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, V for Vendetta (awesome fucking movie),

DemonBox 05.10.2006 11:24 AM

And I really enjoyed 24 hour party people!
