What's your favourite Siouxsie & The Banshees record ?
No poll as there are more than 10 records.
Mine is Juju (awesome guitar playing by late John McGeoch). What's yours ? P.S. I've written record and not album because Nocturne and Through the looking glass can't be neglected in my opinion. |
No idea but if you want to know more about Siouxsie and the banshees talk to the stage manager at Brixton Academy, he was on her crew or Dave who does the live music dvds at the top of canal st market in Camden. He was on her crew too
|
John McGeoch is dead? Wow, didn't know that. He had a good style. I remember Robert Smith saying he had to work hard to get his parts down for the tour he was on with Sioux.
My fave is probably Tinderbox. Some great guitar on that one too, also by John. |
Sioxsie Sioux has her debut solo album, Mantaray, released September 10th.

Same album for me. |
Nocturne is the live one, isn't it? If it is, then that's my favourite.

juju

Robert Smith is very good on it. Quote:
John McGeoch doesn't play on Tinderbox actually. |
"The Scream" pour moi, followed by "Join Hands".
|
Kaleidoscope
|
Juju is probably their most cohesive effort, but I find them to be a singles band.
|
Bump
|
I've only heard 3 records by them:
Juju>Kaleidscope>Tinderbox |
kaleidoscope, purely for "christine"
|
i've only heard that hong kong garden song, i thought it was rubbish
|
The Scream.
|
Ju Ju, although The Scream is also excellent.
|
juju since it's the only one i've listened to after avoiding them like the plague for so many years.
great album, though. |
i was gonna make a post about "seminal bands who u cant helt but despise" but i didnt feel like it, and siouxie was gonna be right behind the cure on my list, ive tried to like them and listened to a few of their alblums, but fuck do they bore me.
|
I usually just go straight for the first singles collection.
|
Somone with a decent opinion on music tell me which album to get.
T&B is right about that single, but they did do one of the ridiculously few Beatles covers I like (so that's them and the Fall's A day in the life). |

Juju, Great Guitar Playing, great drumming and great songs. |
Juju for sure.
|
the Scream
|
No, no and no.
Now, someone else say exactly the same thing. |
i used to avoid them, hated them, didn't see the appeal at all, except for "cities in dust" which i like as novelty pop song. a few weeks ago, i watched their reunion show on tv and i was quite impressed, great sound, great performance and great songs, so i checked out juju with mcgeoch on guitar and i quite like it.
|
ive got juju on my ipod, and yeah, i dont like it, at all, i gave them a real fair shot though.
|
what's weird is that I'm listening to their best of right now, I guess I go with them being a singles band too. spellbound is on which is ace but I have to say I like peek-a-boo best and (with apologies to the recieved opinion on this band) kiss them for me second then cities of dust. what can I say? I like soppy stuff.
sorry that didn't really answer the question did it? |
mine is the one with SPELLBOUND on it!
