What's your favourite Siouxsie & The Banshees record ?

No poll as there are more than 10 records.

Mine is Juju (awesome guitar playing by late John McGeoch).

What's yours ?

P.S. I've written record and not album because Nocturne and Through the looking glass can't be neglected in my opinion.

No idea but if you want to know more about Siouxsie and the banshees talk to the stage manager at Brixton Academy, he was on her crew or Dave who does the live music dvds at the top of canal st market in Camden. He was on her crew too

John McGeoch is dead? Wow, didn't know that. He had a good style. I remember Robert Smith saying he had to work hard to get his parts down for the tour he was on with Sioux.

My fave is probably Tinderbox. Some great guitar on that one too, also by John.

Sioxsie Sioux has her debut solo album, Mantaray, released September 10th.

Same album for me.

sonicl 07.24.2007 03:16 AM

Nocturne is the live one, isn't it? If it is, then that's my favourite.

ohfuchsia 07.24.2007 05:09 AM

juju

Robert Smith is very good on it.

John McGeoch doesn't play on Tinderbox actually.

MellySingsDoom 07.24.2007 06:37 AM

"The Scream" pour moi, followed by "Join Hands".

freefenix 07.24.2007 05:10 PM

Kaleidoscope

SuperCreep 07.25.2007 05:53 AM

Juju is probably their most cohesive effort, but I find them to be a singles band.

Torn Curtain 08.29.2007 04:36 PM

Bump

Destroyed 03.10.2008 02:52 AM

I've only heard 3 records by them:

Juju>Kaleidscope>Tinderbox

Cantankerous 03.10.2008 03:01 AM

kaleidoscope, purely for "christine"

Toilet & Bowels 03.10.2008 03:23 AM

i've only heard that hong kong garden song, i thought it was rubbish

Death & the Maiden 03.10.2008 04:58 AM

The Scream.

Florya 03.10.2008 07:49 AM

Ju Ju, although The Scream is also excellent.

Everyneurotic 03.10.2008 12:26 PM

juju since it's the only one i've listened to after avoiding them like the plague for so many years.

great album, though.

batreleaser 03.10.2008 01:23 PM

i was gonna make a post about "seminal bands who u cant helt but despise" but i didnt feel like it, and siouxie was gonna be right behind the cure on my list, ive tried to like them and listened to a few of their alblums, but fuck do they bore me.

krastian 03.10.2008 02:36 PM

I usually just go straight for the first singles collection.

Glice 03.10.2008 02:58 PM

Somone with a decent opinion on music tell me which album to get.

T&B is right about that single, but they did do one of the ridiculously few Beatles covers I like (so that's them and the Fall's A day in the life).

Juju, Great Guitar Playing, great drumming and great songs.

dionysusundone 03.10.2008 03:30 PM

Juju for sure.

LittlePuppetBoy 03.10.2008 03:40 PM

the Scream

Glice 03.10.2008 04:09 PM

No, no and no.

Now, someone else say exactly the same thing.

Everyneurotic 03.10.2008 10:04 PM

i used to avoid them, hated them, didn't see the appeal at all, except for "cities in dust" which i like as novelty pop song. a few weeks ago, i watched their reunion show on tv and i was quite impressed, great sound, great performance and great songs, so i checked out juju with mcgeoch on guitar and i quite like it.

batreleaser 03.11.2008 12:01 AM

ive got juju on my ipod, and yeah, i dont like it, at all, i gave them a real fair shot though.

therealglenstyler 03.11.2008 08:54 AM

what's weird is that I'm listening to their best of right now, I guess I go with them being a singles band too. spellbound is on which is ace but I have to say I like peek-a-boo best and (with apologies to the recieved opinion on this band) kiss them for me second then cities of dust. what can I say? I like soppy stuff.
sorry that didn't really answer the question did it?

Rob Instigator 03.11.2008 09:08 AM

mine is the one with SPELLBOUND on it!
