Who wants to rep me...

...for turning in my formal notice of resignation today!?

Go on! Be the first.

SynthethicalY 06.04.2007 02:38 PM

What are you going to do? Do I have to rep you to get an answer from you?

gmku 06.04.2007 02:39 PM

No, not at all. I'm a fair-minded bloke.

I'm going to open a CD/record retail store/music performance venue/cafe. I'm also going to freelance write. We're moving to the east coast.

Savage Clone 06.04.2007 02:40 PM

Unless you vandalized your place of work in some way, you'll get nothing but sincere congratulations from me.

Savage Clone 06.04.2007 02:40 PM

I will rep you when you open that store though!

SynthethicalY 06.04.2007 02:41 PM

Ok, will you have an online site, so you can make some money off of me.

gmku 06.04.2007 02:41 PM

To Savage... cool. I'll keep you posted. I bought Small Business Management for Dummies and am drafting my business plan, etc.

I already do. It's small--fewer than 8 records in the inventory now! But I've already sold a whopping 4 items! Things I'm pulling from my own collection.

Anyway, it feels incredibly liberating to turn in my letter. But then I suppose liberating is how some also think of suicide.

SynthethicalY 06.04.2007 02:46 PM

Where's the link?

king_buzzo 06.04.2007 02:49 PM

But Radio Ethiopia and Who's Next are claimed already.

Just shut up and suck.

gmku 06.04.2007 03:22 PM

I'll pass this time around. Your generosity is overwhelming, though.

king_buzzo 06.04.2007 03:24 PM

Your loss.

gmku 06.04.2007 03:27 PM

I'll take your word for it.

king_buzzo 06.04.2007 03:29 PM

You do that.

SynthethicalY 06.04.2007 03:30 PM

Anyways... GMKU congrats on your store. Hope if I ever go there, I get to go into your store.

gmku 06.04.2007 03:32 PM

I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Good. Call me if you change your mind.

floatingslowly 06.04.2007 03:58 PM

I will happily rep you if you can assure me that you won't have the same bullshit elite attitude as the guy who runs the record store near me.

thinking back, I'm fairly certain that this same attitude is displayed by most music store employees.

please dare to break the mold.

Congratulations with resigning from The Man... but I thought you were moving to Portland? As in the one on the west coast?

Haven't thought about it, but I guess I could. I'd have to check overseas rates before I quoted you a shipping fee.

Change in plans. We decided Portland didn't work. Too big, and too expensive. I'd certainly not stand much of a chance trying to do this there.

That is bullshit. No, my store philosophy is entirely built on the idea of the music store as a refuge where everyone feels welcome. The mold you're talking about is an old one, and if it ain't broken yet, it should be.

Buzzo, lay off gmku, he is mine and mine only.

I just added a few more items to the catalog. Hit refresh if you don't see all 10.

king_buzzo 06.05.2007 02:09 PM

Changed your mind yet?
