Greek Theater Presale...
Ticketmaster
Password: Daydream I don't know if it is over or not though. My English teacher (a very badass teacher), told me in class today that there was a presale because he knows that I like SY (he isn't a fan) and let me call my dad to tell him to buy tickets. And that was cool. Anyone else going to go? |
I got 3 tickets presale. They are in section C.
Do you know if they save some of the better tickets for the actual date that they start selling them so that all of the good seats don't all sellout in the presale? Because I don't really like the seats I got and I'm wondering if I should have waited until april 1 to get tickets. That is, if they do put limitations on the presale. |
No clue. I got terrace seats though.
I'll be there. I'm really stoked. Got a couple of seats in the Orchestra. I've never been to this venue, but I can't imagine it is all that big. There are some open dates in their calendar, so I can see them announcing a Fillmore show also. Wouldn't surprise me. But, damn, Daydream Nation in its entirety? I'll never forget getting that album after Christmat break from McGill and totally digging it. They never did come to Montreal for that tour. Yeah, I'm old. ;-)
Can anyone else give any details on what this venue is like? It's right near BART, which is cool. |
fuck, i can't believe i missed it by a day! did they change it? i swear it was on the 31st! i defenitely want orchestra pit or section A seats, but all thats left in the pre-sale is C?! should i wait until the first and hope for better seat choices? aaargggg......
I wonder if I should get them, they are in the c section.
man that sucks - the presale for berkeley community theater is sold out. what the fuck did they have to do that for? hopefully there's some decent seats with ticketmaster!!
I bought my ticket For the Greek sale right now. I got it in this section- SEC A,
You got B today, I got A but I logged into it at 10 in the morning. Yeah I waited for today cause yesterday's they only had c.
man, i got up a little late and got some B section tickets. row A though... i am so excited, now we have to wait for months! i think they said DDN deluxe set drops in june-ish...
Ticketmaster pre-sales are a joke, always only bad seats, or at least, worse than the public on-sale. For the Greek, pre-sale I was pulling up sec B rows W and V, and various sec C rows (A-J). Public onsale I got sec A, row E (score!). Today I was using the American Express option rather than the general option.
This is where it gets weird, I also pulled up PIT tickets (whoa!) so I immediately snagged them, quick, super quick, before the timer runs out and they release them to someone else. I zoom through the screens, get the confirmation email and it says tickets were $999 each. But at least there was no booking fees on top of that. Turns out American Express Gold Card was having some unlisted, unadvertised exclusive thing where they had the best seats in the house and are selling them to cardmembers at ridiculous prices. I've complained and am trying to get the pit tickets for the $38 they listed them for on the initial concert listing page. As much as I love SY and Daydream, $999 is a bit much. But that's concert promoters in LA for you. |
I wonder if they will allow camera's.
Fuck. I should have waited. I checked today and they had some section B seats but I already had some section C tickets. This sucks. The show looks like its going to be lame. From the looks of it, it looks like people have to sit in seats. I'll barely even be able to see the band because I'm so far away too. I don't even want to go anymore.
I hope they do a show at a smaller venue in LA without assigned seating. |
I got seats in the A section. This morning.
I hate that Ticketmaster does this whole "fill out all your information in two-three mintues" or lose the tickets. Once you have them you should have them, Tickemaster is so fucking lame wish Sonic Youth were smarter pulled a Pearl Jam Anti-Ticketmaster thing, because they are full of shit.
My dad didn't want to get good seats. He wanted to be an ear friendly distance away. :(
yeah, it would be cool to see them do daydream at a theatre, like the wiltern or something (i would like to be able to bounce around with giddyness and ecstacy without any seating restraints)... if they do i might sell my greek tickets... how big is the greek? if i am in the middle of B section (J row, actually), do i need binoculars?
The Greek is actually not that bad, I don't think you need binoculars anywhere you sit, since its arranged on an incline and anywhere you sit, no matter how far back, you can see the band pretty good.
I think they have two big screens too.
I need to go... If i only had a ride
HELPPPP fucking ticketmaster...keep getting some error message about thier certificate being out of date and i can't buy tickets on there! fuck!
I just did a search on Ticketmaster and found some in Row D. Ticketmaster must keep the best seats for themselves to sell for the service charge...sorry, "convenience" charge. As if we had a choice. Charge is $9.20 on a $35.00 ticket...more than 25%. How can that be legal? Someone should bring racketeering charges against these rats. "When the rats run riot...!"
two more years....i get my law degree...then watch out rats!
I really wanna hit that show
I have a couple of tickets I need to unload, they're sec C, row A. If yr gonna be at a big outdoor venue (6,000 capacity) then at least being in the front row of your section means you should have a pretty good view. I'm not looking to profit, just get what I paid (face plus ticketmaster fees). Click my name on the left to send me a msg if yr interested.
Hey, this show is not at the outdoor Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley. It is at the Berkeley Community Theatre near the downtown Berkeley BART station. There seems to be some confusion on this in this thread.
july 19th: berkeley

Win Sonic Youth Tickets for their Historic Greek Show ![]() If June 20th isn't marked on your calendar you probably shouldn't enter this contest. We have a pair of tickets for this show. We also have two posters for the winner as well. To enter tell us a story about Sonic Youth. Tell us what the show is going to be like. Tell us how wonderful it will be. Reminisce about old shows they've played here if you must, or speculate about how much different it will be from their appearance at Coachella. Fantasize. Daydream, if you will. Put your little story in the comments below and make sure to put your real email address in the proper field so we can write you back if you're the winner. Deadline to enter is April 30 at 4:20pm and we will announce the winner on May 1. If for some reason entering contests is against your religion or you just have a fear about writing in public, amazingly there are still some tickets available for sale, which you can snatch up here for a limited time. |
