THEE best fighting game for GCN, but you need either Hori Fighting Stick or Hori Pad to fully appreciate its awesomeness since the control scheme sucks ass on standard GCN controller.

omg I had this shiz on PS2. I got Shin Akuma and the other guy Geese right? This is my favorite fighting game evar! Iori, Akuma, and (zombie) Iori is my team.

it's not my favorite EVER, becuz nothing can beat SFII in my opinion. But this game is amazing. Especially the size of the roster, and the inclusion of Morigana.

I have Battletoads, Battletoads in Ragnarok's World, and Battletoads Double Dragon for Game Boy. They're all really good.

hell yah. Ragnarok World on Game Boy is a port of the NES Battletoads game. It's impressive.

Gamecube did get the best version of Soul Calibur II, though... with Link.

Anyway, my favorite fighting game is still just SFII. Can't really do any better than that. I like Marvel vs Capcom 2 a lot though.

Yes, the GCN version of Soul Calibur is by far the best. I've never used anyone other than Link. :)

other GCN fighting games I can think of:

Bloody Roar - this game is really good. Have you played it?
Def Jam - never played em.
Mortal Kombat Nemesis/Deadly Alliance/Deception - haven't played them (yet)
X-Men Next Dimension - this is kind of good. The controls are pretty stiff and wonky at times, but it had some cool ideas and nice big roster.

there's also a lot of Manga-based fighters on the Cube. A lot of them might be Japan-only. I don't know. I stay away from Manga. But I know there's Bleach, Naruto, etc games.

plus the Melee craze:

Super Smash Bros - I'm not a huge fan, but it's kinda fun. I suck at it.
Dreamix TV World Fighters - Japan only unfortunately. Awesome Hudson answer to Smash Bros. :)
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee - freaking incredible.
TMNT Mutant Melee - it's Ninja Turtles!
