... He quipped, knowing, in his heart, that his homie Severian was right and had his best interests at heart.

Haha listen. I really don't like when you make what i believe to be unfair comparisons. However no, its not that serious. I break your balls about it because i so strongly disagree with the comparison itself, not because i am in any way mad at you.

Well, thanks bra :)

but I REALLY hate that douchebaggy "nope, sorry, I'm right you're wrong, I can do stuff you can't" kind of attitude. It reminds me of a guy I used to know. He'd pull really similar shit. Made me want to punch him. And correct his grammar. And make a fool out of him.

In that instance it was more like, "the death penalty is wrong -- but your gay uncle is going to go to hell when he dies."

Self righteous horseshit.

Severian 04.22.2016 05:29 PM

And I'd be like, whoah whoah whoah..

Then.. I'd hit him with some *boom!* reason, and *pow!* logic, and it would bounce off his ass like bullets of off Superman.

God I hated that guy.

God, this fucking thread.

And btw, I loved Tattoo You back then, and I still love it today.

Severian 04.23.2016 12:00 PM

I can't do '80s Stones. I can barely do '79s Stones. I definitely will not have anything to do with '90s or '00s.

But strangely, I love the early '90s Jagger song "Don't Tear Me Up" (???)

12 reasons to die II is the best i've heard in a minute.

Severian 04.23.2016 06:50 PM

Hey, ah, NR... How are you feeling about ALWAY STRIVE AND PROSPER?

I've gotta say, I like the production but... There is something about Ferg's voice that I just can't jive to. I guess I didn't notice so much on Trap Lord, but even with that album I wasn't anywhere near as into as you and louder were.

He sounds a bit like E-40, who I like, but whose voice is also a little ... hmm.. lame. Ferg is like 24 years old max and he sounds like a goddamn 40 year old, rapping about trap shit trough some weird Bill Cosby filter. (And not Cosby the rapist, Cosby the unthreatening middle aged '80s black guy... You know, the fictional Cosby!)

Anyway, I like "Psycho" but not the chorus. I like the beats throughout, but I don't like the songs. I... I don't think I like the album, actually. To put it simply, I don't think I like Ferg. He sounds ridiculously "safe" for a guy who appeared flexin' in a lion pose on his first album cover. It just doesn't work for me.

I'm a Rocky man. (Rocky maaaaan!)

noisereductions 04.23.2016 07:29 PM

remember when I said I wasn't clicking with the new Kendrick and you were like "what? Weird!" Well...

I think this new Ferg is my 2nd favorite hip hop album this year. I might even like it more than Trap Lord.

Ferg is an interesting dude. He wasn't even a rapper. He was an artist. I think he owned a t-shirt business. So he doesn't approach songs like a rapper would. Instead he's on some weird cadences, weird voices, etc. He's like Busta, cept I can't listen to a whole Busta album these days.

I don't know. I think this album's pretty damn great.

Severian 04.23.2016 08:41 PM

Hey I'm not hating. I actually feel kinda bad about it. And I totally get why Kendrick doesn't appeal to everyone, so I didn't mean to sound so shocked that you weren't into the new one. I guess I assumed you did like it for some reason.

Anyway, we all have our own tastes. It's fun when we all agree on things, but how often can that truly happen?

louder 04.23.2016 11:45 PM

So the new Beyonce is out on Tidal. And it's amazing. There's some rock on it..

Severian 04.24.2016 12:42 AM

An album?

This is her best album to date. Cements her as the best female pop artist of our time.

What's it called? I took Tidal off my phone and cancelled my subscription when TLOP dropped for real so I've heard nothing about this.

Severian 04.24.2016 11:19 AM

I feel like every album since Sasha Fierce has been her "best album to date" ... She just keeps making these pop masterpieces, each one exponentially more awesome than the last.

Yup! Beyonce is a very talented lady, but her father who was also her manager was too controlling. Departing from him after the subpar Sasha Fierce was the best decision she's ever made, ever since then she's been on a roll. She really keeps getting better on every album.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 04.24.2016 02:00 PM

I find bey interesting because she is a cultural icon and there are no competition BUT she doesn't seem to have the force and dominant influence that previous divas had. She is better than Modonna but i don't think she has reached a bigger peak than Madonna in her prime was!
