last i heard you po' learn to cook! (it's what we do) how do you think those cubans invented their sandwiches? cooking pig, that's how. they didn't buy them. know your local markets. anyway best wishes with your latest condition lol http://www.cdc.gov/outbreaks/ |
yeah, i'm just limited with cooking supplies. i have a pot for pasta and that's it. i usually cook shit at my friend's house if i wanna make something, but tomorrow gonna get a saute pan and a baking dish.
ugh, i should grab the sandwich grill when i go home in a few weeks. i'm so hungry all the time. |
oh i'm drinking some shitty malt liquor i poured in my water bottle so i could drink it in the computer lab
|
!@#$! did you notice "sure" was in italics ;)

if i had to choose 1 pot to rule them all that would be my cast iron skillet. which is not even a pot proper. it also doubles as a weapon if required. |
luckily i live in a nice gated place so no weapons needed, but a skillet would be hella nice.

the thrift store is fine and in desperation walrat has made in china lodges for like $8.... may not be an old-school wagner but pays for itself the first time you cook in it. |
yeah, even ross has a few decent looking ones and it's next to trader joes so i can get two birds stoned at once. i was never much into cooking until i just had a microwave for six months and missed real food.
|
yeah. buying prepared food is for bougie office workers & aspirationals with too much debt. fuck that shit!
btw i ate awesome garbanzos tonight. with yellow peppers, shallots, some seasonings which included soy sauce. i buy them raw at the hippie store. soak them overnight & pressure cook them for 30' in the weekend and use them all week. without pressure cooker just slow-boil them for an hour or 2. versatile as fuck. for breakfast with eggs, for lunch in a salad or hummus, for dinner howevr the hell you want them. well this garbanzo-cooking peasant must wash the onion from his face and go to sleep. ![]() |
night! and ah i should try that. i eat a ton of hummus just by itself. could just some texture.

i feel bad, like this thread promotes alcoholism instead of healthy drinking
but here, i just "invented" (if one can say that) this cocktail THE PEAR SHAPED (kindly note the joke) 2 oz cheap brandy .5 oz cheap pear liqueur (18% alcohol, some cheap french thing, tasty but overly sweet) 3 shakes of angostura bitters shake w/ ice pour on coctail glasses this meets the 4 criteria for a cocktail: spirits, water, sugar (the pear thang), bitters tastes like sweet victory and i don't have to break open a vermouth just wanted to share the recipe before i completely forget nighty nights |
Quote:
alchemy with turds is the quintessence of all popular cuisines and this actually turned out good the brandy is cheap but tastes better than good vodka the pear thing is actually tasty-- it's no poire williams (that would be the way to make it right) but it has good flavor. it just sucks as a liqueur due to oversweetness but it's not essentially bad-- hence its use as a syrup instead it didn't occur to me to muddle pears even though i had them-- but i'll plunk some pears in cheap brandy next year. right now i'm just trying to get rid of winter stock before i switch to spring drinks. sorta like making malasadas before lent. |
wine, alone, because everything sucks
|
Lies. I am surrounded by lovely people.

eh i was feeling cynical.
water with mio flavoring, because i'm broke |
Quote:
hey you i hope the cynicism is gone i had such a nice time this weekend!-- barely recovering today your post made me think, if you coud drink that always, then you'd never be broke in the first place. |
ah, it is. told a former flame to fuck off, a bad influence to stay away, an old friend that we should hang more. been a good day or so.

![]() I prefer the mouthfeel of Sierra Nevada Torpedo but this one kicks you in the mouth with hops but is dry as a bone compared to westcoast ipas like Stone's(2), Torpedo(1), Lagunitas (4), or Ballast Point (3). It reminds me of a dry version of Firestone Union Jack IPA, tastes like stone fruit |
eh, i'd try it but i don't want dry things lately. i killed a bottle of pinot grigio tonight.
