Can you recommend me some good RPG for PS4?
I've played Witcher 3, Divinity:Original Sin and Skyrim and now I can't find anything similar to these three marvelous games. I'll have a month off, I need a game to play. |
Have you tried any of the Dark Souls games Slavo? They have that fantasy vibe. However they’re brutally hard.

They aren't as difficult as people make out, if you played games in the 8bit or 16bit eras you will played harder and less fair games that are now regarded as classics. Dark Souls is my favourite game of all time I highly recommend it. It is certainly challenging but it is very fair and unlike a lot of modern games it leaves it up to the player to figure things out, which when you do beat a tough boss, discover a hidden area or short cut makes the game incredibly rewarding. It also has one of the cleverest world designs I've seen in a game, and incredible atmosphere. You can probably pick up a second hand copy of Dark Souls Remastered for a reasonable price. |

I'm really enjoying Horizon Zero Dawn. Witcher 3 is one of my all time favs and if you like that I think you'll dig Horizon. |

I mean, it's not standard "fantasy" RPG, but everyone seems to be raving on Red Dead Redemption this year. I have yet to try it out, but it's on the list, and the vids I have watched on it seem superb. |

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen might be your safest bet. Think Witcher but with a 'pawn-based' party system and waaaay better combat. Seriously, the combat is the best part of the entire game. Also consider looking into maybe Monster Hunter World or Dragon Quest XI. |

I played the demo of dragons dogma and the combat seemed pretty wack compared to dark souls |
I second MHW. Pretty fun, but if your single player driven, you’ll probably not enjoy it as much.

Dragon's Dogma isn't really meant to play like Dark Souls though, the game has more in common w/ like Witcher or Skyrim (two of my all-time favs tbh). DD just has Dark Souls-esque combat. Dragons Dogma was intended to be like a Capcom developed take on the western RPG. Slavo, if you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2v-FYCN72M |

Not sure why I did not think of this earlier, but both South Park games are absolutely GREAT RPGs. I strongly recommend either of them. They are a bit easy mode, so certainly play them on hardest difficulty if you try them. |

actually, this looks like it could be right up my alley. also, I might check out Dark Souls too, thanks to your recommendation. I've always avoided it due to it's arguable difficulty, but it might be fun though. |
![]() Goofing around in IT class because it's the last day. I thought I was doing pretty well, but evidently not. Especially since the first time I had them in the wrong hands. |
Finally got some time to start the new Resident Evil 2 game. Played the demo...was really excited to get this. w00t

it's the most true to the original board game as anything that's been released. I think I prefer the Roguetech mod to vanilla though. It's infinitely more difficult, you have to play very defensively or the AI will fuck you, and there's heaps more customization with components. |

Just finished Leon's story. |
![]() Just beat Delirium, 9 lives, 99 bombs, 99 keys, 99 coins. What a run. |
![]() Played this with some friends. It was a lot of fun, and although the humour will certainly be dated in a few years, I was able to enjoy it at this point. My monster got laid, too. |

I'm intrigued. Gonna have to check this game out, sounds like. |

It's in the whole visual novel style - all your choices are really a) where you'll go and b) what you will say when you're there. It's quite tongue-in-cheek - breaks the fourth wall about your in-game stats a lot ('by sitting down on the toilet seat without wiping it first, you gain +2 BOLDNESS, and probably +1 STD'). Also there's a shit-ton of possible endings. $15 on Steam according to my friends, but that's Australian |

Okay, I am certainly going to have to check it out. And if you like that style of game at all, I HIGHLY recommend checking out Doki Doki Literature Club. I commented on it some time ago about it blowing my mind. Based on your description of that Monster Prom game though, it might be right up your alley. Heed the warnings though, it can be a little disturbing to some. Also, it's FREE on Steam. :) You can learn more here: https://ddlc.moe/ EDIT: P.S. I get quite a chuckle at the fact you have now chosen that as your sig. |
PS2 suggestions? Can someone rumble up an atsonicpark type list for me? I've never owned a non-Nintendo console (wasn't intentional!) and PS2 appeals to me the most (also because I can finally play PS1 games too).

Depends what you like to play, but for me...

Holy crap that was such an overlooked but amazing game. Great side-scroll platforming through 3D environments. Nice stylized artwork. Great game... Quote:
And this is an absolute classic in the series. Sort of where it went from mildly realistic into embracing the more "arcade" side of it. Such a great transitional game for the series. I miss these games... And speaking of THPS. Did any fans of that series play THPS 5? Legitimately the most disappointing experience of my entire gaming life. Worst game of a series ever. My blood pressure is raising just thinking about it. Fuck Robomodo. |
Pro Skater 3 and 4 were so amazing. I adored them. pro skater 5???? I almost wrote off tony hawk as a moneygrubbing fuck after that one....

Ya, I remember going back and watching some of the press he did after the fact, and you could just almost tell he knew he was peddling a bullshit product. Then I remember seeing or reading something about that being the last game in a contract he was in, or the gaming company was in. Not sure to be honest, and not sure how much water it held, but I remember it giving me a little of sympathy for him at least, like he really did not have much of a choice but to put his name on it one last time. Either way, fuck all involved in making that heaping pile of dog-shit. It maintained absolutely 0% of what made that series what it was... |

Anyone have some inane but entertaining iOS games? Need something to pass the time
|
Heads up: you can get The Sims 4 for free off Origin for the next few days (until the 28th IIRC). Just the raw game without any expansion backs, but a free game is a free game.

I just played about 3 hours of Trover Saves the Universe. It's a new game by one of the Rick and Morty creators, and it's one of the funnest things I have ever played. So, so, sooooo good. (and I am not even playing it via VR, which it was totally designed for) A pretty fun little puzzle/platformer that is funny as all hell. I HIGHLY recommend it so far.
NSFW trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFjg1wRT7sE Edit Update: I have played through the whole thing now. This game is seriously one of the funnest playthroughs of any game I have ever played. Ranks right up there with the South Park games. I can only imagine how amazingly badass the VR must be. Still a great playthrough w/o it though. |
Just had this conversation with some friends. If you were able to only have one system, what system would that be? You would only have the physical games released for that system.

Playing Pikmin 3!
I love my Wii U. It's especially great when it's soft modded. I'd say it's my favorite system, but I haven't got a switch yet. |

Backwards compatible PS3... presuming I also get PSX/PS2 games *holds gun to yr Sonic head&*:p:p:p |

I figured Mods and backwards compatibility would make it too easy. Like for PS3, I would limit it to only PS3 games.
I guess what I really want to see is what is everyone’s favorite system/era of gaming. |

N64 First year of college. Pre-internet gaming. First console with 4 ports. ALWAYS had 4 people willing to play. And durable as hell. I swear that console ran practically 24/7 for multiple years. 4 player Mario Kart 64, James Bond: Goldeneye, and WCW vs. NWO with all the players in the same room talking mad shit. Losers had to pass the controller. Good times. Good times. |
If I could include mods it would be unequivocally the wii u.
NES has the most amount of games I like, but for era, I think gamecube/xbox era is when console games fully matured. Since then graphics have gradually improved, but new games would be just as good if they had to be scaled back for those systems. |
i pick PC then
|
Gonna pick up another Blast City Cabinet tomorrow. I’m so fucking excited. Just texted a dude in Cali about some link cables too. Who needs furniture when I’m gonna have H2H setup
|
Holy fucking shit.
