Surprise! This is a REALLY good black comedy.

Like, wow. Better than it has any right to be.

Had me laughing out loud.

Watch the first 15 minutes and see if you’re not hooked.

Black comedy done right.

oh! was just looking for that genre. ok! thanks

Couple of really good episodes of Corporate lately. Best comedy on teevee now? Or, close to it.

Never even heard of it

Severian 02.07.2019 07:17 PM

But Atlanta — despite only being a comedy between 40 and 60 percent of the time — is the best comedy on TV.

demonrail666 02.07.2019 08:10 PM

Just finished season 2 of Sons of Anarchy. Absolutely loved it! I've heard the show takes a dip after this but I'll keep with it and see how it goes. Some great characters here although probably my least favourite is actually Jax. I just can't believe in him. Whereas Clay, Tig (probably my fave of all), Gemma, agent Stahl (the best Elmore Leonard character not written by Elmore Leonard), Opie are all terrific. And respect to Henry Rollins for having the balls to play someone that vile with that amount of conviction.

Please PLEASE no spoilers for anything that happens from now!

Well he's killed at the end of Season 2 so, unless the show turns into The Walking Dead, I guess it's a done deal as far as Henry's flirtation with neo-Nazi's is concerned.

not as fresh as the first season anymore but still addictive

Finished off the rest of "You're The Worst" season 1, and like the first 14 episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 3.

dirty bunny 02.11.2019 09:10 PM

Big Mouth. I didn't realize they had made any beyond the first season, and was bingeing on it. Season 2 isn't as funny as the first, leaning much more into the drama side (can't complain too much since that was always part of the show). But I did notice some political shit creeping into their jokes which I could do without.

Yeah, we know you Hollyweird types are all lefty-libs. We get it.

Severian 02.12.2019 08:58 AM

Still on Patriot.

Every show is hilarious and truly fucking depressing in a harrowing way.

But then it gets goddamn hilarious again.

To anyone who’s not watching Patriot, you’re missing out on the story of a brutal CIA killing machine who’s hyperviolence is the result of conditioning, and who, underneath it all, is a warm fuzzy puppy of a man who can’t stand the work he does, so he writes country songs about it in painstaking and hilarious detail and performs them at open mic nights.

It’s fucked, don’t get me wrong, but it’s also made me laugh harder than anything else recently.

Bet not as much as one of your Dark Knight rants.

Rob Instigator 02.12.2019 11:16 AM

I can't watch any more propaganda TV trying to normalize assassins/murderers/killers because they go to acting class or are funny, or have a hilarious grandma. It is fucking HORRIBLE.

none of these women assassin movies show how much extreme depravity and ultraviolence was probably perpetrated on these women since an extremely young age to allow them to compartmentalize the evil they do.

That burn didn’t make a ton of sense, but good effort.

Also, you’re breaking the rules not set by me by talking about that movie. What’s your endgame, friend?

So, is your criticism N/A because Patriot is about a male ultraviolent assassin who suffers while compartmentalizing the evil he does?

I got yes.
Watch Patriot before you judge.

Frasier and King of the Hill

Maybe the greatest examples of American satire ever?

Each show skewering a completely different socio-economic class with a seemingly effortless approach. Nearly every joke lands, and both series have a strong sense of heart underneath. I feel that helps, because while you may find folly in each character the show mocks, you also cant help but feel endeared towards them as well.

Transparent ... finally

Really, really not a comedy even a little. Like, maybe a few laughy moments, but mostly just a ½ hour drama, even more so than Atlanta — which has offers consistent, if odd, laughs, even when it’s scaring the shit out of you.

I like it so far.
Curious as to how the fuck this is going to work without that fuckface Tambor

Ditto for Areested Development, which is COMING BACK AGAIN IN MARCH!!! :o

Oh, I’m ready. I hate everyone.

Except Shelly. I kinda love her. She deserves better than those brat kids.

Raquel is also wonderful, but not family. And Carrie Brownsetin’s character, of course.

Oh, and Angelica Houston.

Yup, Angela from who’s the boss.

The bio-mama.

Total Drama Island. Out of all the TV shows I watched when I was a kid, this one is probably the one I have fondest memories for.
I found the show on YouTube (shh...) and I've been rewatching it on weekends. It still holds up.
