is stoke newington full of dykes? i was wondering why there seems to be so many less lesbians in london compared to gay men.

i'm thinking anywhere that isn't west and probably not south of the river.

Stoke Newington has had the 'dyke central' nickname for years.If you take most of the buses from Kingsland Road and you get off just past Daltson,there's a bar called 'Tonic'(wich i nicknamed toxic) where they all congregate.It's run by a lesbian couple and one of them,i swear,looks like the dyke who runs the strip club in 'Pecker'.

There is a substantial difference between lesbians and dykes though(at least in gay speech if there is such a thing).Dykes are generally the butch types who dress like squaddies(and i don't understand them) whereas lesbians are women who fancy other women(and i applaude this).Why a girl would want to look like i man i don't really know.

the thing that i find weird (and by weird i mean rubbish) about lesbians and dykes is how unprolific they are in society. however on the other hand, i'm in favour of lesbianism as much as any straight guy though.

This must be the longest conversation I've read between T&B and Pork on two simultaneous threads about strip joints, dykes, gay football fanatics, Stoke Newington, lesbian central, cute doormen, 7 ft tall black guys, Aldgate tube and moving out of shoreditch by the end of the summer.

Well, pork and t&b most likely know each other in "real life" and I've noticed that people who are acquaintances get engaged in chats like this on message boards.

I post on this board where most of the about 20-30 active members know each other and the board gets occasionally filled with irrelevant shit like that.

i don't know porker in real life. we just live in the same neighbourhood, i think.
