It's Love and Rockets.

Glow in the dark Ghost Rider cover.

My whole collection was about 30 comics in total. About 90% Marvel and some D.C.(GreenLantern) Unfortunately in 2003 my roommate stole my collection when I moved out of our apartment as we hated each other and I still do. Finally this year I accused him of taking my collection of comics and more. He lied about it of course. Oh well, there's nothing I can really do about those sweet comics now. I doubt he even knew anything about comics anyway. He was probably thinking they were worth a lot of money cause I had about 5 Spiderman#1s. Those #1s are simply from a series around 1992. The real comics worth money are the original series in the 60s and earlier. My most valuable comic was Wolverine#2 worth about $15 tops. Damn, I miss those comics now.

Superhero comics are for fucking idiots with no taste/class.

I need to check out Love & Rockets. I wish I knew more comic writers.

Blankets was really good, beautiful and sad. Jimmy Corrigan is cool, and has tons of stylistic innovation. From Hell is pretty nasty. I had a sour face while reading about 20 pages of this one particular scene.

Logicomix is truly awesome. The life of Bertrand Russell through comics and it's truly interesting and moving. Really well done.

Y'all should check out Misery Loves Comedy by Ivan Brunetti. It's some raunchy, black humored nihilistic shit. Funny too, if you're in the mood.

Calvin & Hobbes is always amazing; it is probably the first written work I really got into on my own and devoured the whole series as a child.

I have some bizarro stuff lying around from my father like The Collective Unconscious of Odd Bodkins, Crumb's stuff, Zap, and other underground 60's/70's stuff.

OH, and I HIGHLY recommend anyone with any interest in comics to get this immediately:

http://www.amazon.com/McSweeneys-Qua...6881842&sr=1-2

It's got a shit ton of different artists with all different styles and makes for an incredible reader. Totally essential. You're guaranteed to find stuff you never knew existed and new stuff to love. GET IT NOW.

I'm on a mission to get all the KRAMERS ERGOT issues.

I have 4, 5, 6, and preordered 8.

1, 2, 3 all go for around between $150 and $500.

7 went for $125 new, goes for $180 used in bad condition. So yeah.

If anyone wants to sell me any, email me.

OH! If you want to know what they are, look them up. They're basically THE COOLEST FUCKING THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN. I'm not one for "WHOA!!!!! THOSE GRAPHIXXXX" or "wHOA! NICE PACKAGING!!!!!!" or anything, I'm usually not impressed by stuff, but these books are like.. art objects.. I'm already making it sound cheesy. Basically, think of the most eyepopping, visually exciting, VISUALLY mindblowing things you'v e ever seen, make it 300 pages long, and there you go.

atsonicpark 06.03.2011 08:04 AM

Hopey Glass is sexy.
