I think we can detect some great wit hidden and we're trying to gradually draw it out.

ThePits 07.02.2007 05:18 PM

Just getting to know each other is all

Nothing like a warm welcome!

ThePits 07.02.2007 05:19 PM

Pookie if this is how you draw wit out I hate to think what you are like at extracting teeth!

I hope you are not a dentist......

Pookie 07.02.2007 05:23 PM

How's that for a warm welcome?

Now thats MY kind of welcome

I've been trying to get truncated in one of those for ages

Minus the fork

Savage Clone 07.02.2007 05:27 PM

I have a full set of Elvgren playing cards from way back. We found them in Mrs. Clone's grandmother's house after she died, still in the box.

(And the fork could have other applications if you're imaginative with it)

ThePits 07.02.2007 05:32 PM

Isnt genuine Elvgren stuff rare??

Savage Clone 07.02.2007 05:39 PM

Yeah, I suppose it is, but if it's playing cards it's probably fairly mass-produced. Still, I'm sure they're worth something just due to their age and having the original box. I made blow-ups of a few of them years ago, and finally just sold them at our yard sale last weekend. Definitely keeping the cards, though.

Can you give me a quick run down on the does and donts on this message board? Basic etiquette etc

Pookie 07.02.2007 06:03 PM

Don't fart in people's faces.

demonrail666 07.02.2007 06:04 PM

Do: Try and see the real SY Gossip. Not just the touristy bits.

Don't: Drink the water.

Savage Clone 07.02.2007 06:06 PM

The only things that seem to annoy people a great deal are doing self-promo more than actual posting if you are an art/band person, or starting new threads about Dinosaur Jr, My Bloody Valentine, JAMC or Nirvana (each of these bands has about a thousand threads already). Music gear talk should always be done in the "effects" thread.
Aside from that, I can't think of too much.

Thanks

I work in live music mainly so its pretty much all I know

Ironically not much about the music itself, looks like I can learn something on here

Thanks for the headsup

Savage Clone 07.02.2007 06:13 PM

I do a little of that as a second job (live music work); setting up stages and sound systems for large events. Of course, since I like the more obscure music personally, there is pretty much zero chance of me setting up for a show I'm actually going to enjoy, but I do enjoy the process and seeing it all come together.

I'm not much given to bouts of diplomacy, but I wouldn't mind some chilling out here.

oh, what happened to the queen of "firendly ribbing"?? whore!! :p
