Has anyone been able to order "Banjaxed Blues" from Feeding Tube?

http://feedingtuberecords.com/releases/banjaxed-blues/
Feeding Tube's Facebook says it is available to order, and that the 2LP set has music not on the CDr or cassette release. But they haven't put a price on the item and PayPal won't complete the transaction. I've called Feeding Tube but nobody's home.

They were actually open when I swung through n'hampton yesterday, they had the 2nd moore/maloney lp but it was like $80 so I didn't buy it. They had tons of stuff but I ended up not getting anything. Nothing really clicked that I needed.

Sonic Youth need to make the end official like REM did, and put out a 3-disc retrospective. Disc 1 is 80s, disc 2 is 90s, disc 3 is 00s.

Mortte Jousimo 07.21.2014 12:04 AM

I think thatīs something they just donīt need to make. There are just too many needles retrospectives in the world. Specially these spotify days when you can make your own list.

Agreed, there is absolutely no need for SY to go for an REM-style cashgrab. The reissues should provoke some interest again anyway.

stu666 08.01.2014 04:25 AM

Thurston just posted on Facebook that there will be a new cassette single released on Blank Editions soon...

stu666 08.02.2014 03:07 AM

3 x Cassette featuring Lee and Thurston among many more...

Thurston Moore returns
with a special set of recordings
for The Blank Tapes

Thurston Moore returns to North London independent record label Blank Editions with a new extended space age composition for the cassette series, Blank Tapes.
Inspired by the comet-chaser Rosetta presently orbiting an epic journey to 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko, Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore sings to the spacecraft "you were born to catch her light / and revel in her flight / before she goes too far / to unnamed stars / into deepest solar reaches / past all she has yet to teach us...." with heavenly accompaniment by Hush Arbors on guitar, Samara Lubelski on ethereal violin and Sunburned Hand of the Man's John Moloney on drums. This original seven minute and twenty second song is a rare treat from this group recorded to honour Sun Ra on the occasion of his Earth-birth centennial.
Side B'a "Rebellion of Joy" is a bliss-metal excursion of four minutes and twenty seconds splendid in instrumental chaos sounding much like the cassette's cover artwork: Sun-drenched goddesses smeared into a black magick skull galaxy.
Produced by Ecstatic Peace Library in the name of Thurston's unending love of the cassette tape format. Offered in a limited edition of 700 copies and presented in a library case with a full colour printed j card featuring collages by Julien Langendorff.
Blank Editions previously released Thurston Moore's radical springtime protest single "Detonation." Thurston Moore's forthcoming full length record "The Best Day" will be released later this year by Matador Records also on cassette tape!

Beautiful three-way guitar album that sees Thurston and Lee of Sonic Youth in complete communion with the great French avant guitarist and improviser Jean-Marc Montera: two sides, two duos, with the first set featuring Ranaldo and Montera and the second Moore and Montera. The Ranaldo side is an absolute stunner, re-formulating decades of string think into a sound so beautiful it feels exactly like that Lester Bangs line about how the intro to “All Tomorrow’s Parties” sounds the sunlight climbing red brick tenement walls in New York in the early morning. The duo flit between almost Evol levels of abstract string drone and roaring aformal excess to the kind of heartbroken slow-motion lyricism of a Loren Connors. The Thurston side gets a little more barefoot in the head, with Montera ripping through the kind of bastardised blues licks of contemporary Fushitsusha while Moore uses the guitar as an electric lightning rod, w/levels of string dunt that are pure Red Transistor. Totally fantastic, one of the best ‘free’ Sonic Youth off-shoots and a great showcase of Montera’s advanced string-thought. Comes in gorgeous gatefold sleeves with great extensive sleevenotes and detective work by Philippe Robert. Highly recommended!

Has somebody got this? I have order about this still in the local store, but nothing has happened since I made the order in March. Also they havenīt cancelled order.

I like this record a lot, especially the Moore/Montera side which was recorded in late 90s. That's my favorite SY and sides era. If you like the MMMR record you'll probably like this. Lee's side was recorded at least a decade later if I recall correctly.
