Absolutely. I'd not thought of it in that way before but you're right. Brilliant movie.

Apocalypto. 7/10

I love this mainly for the scene in the town, which has to be one of the most insane 30 minutes in mainstream Hollywood's history.

8/10. It was just the way I expected it to be, a quite unique and original movie about love because it actually doesn't focus about "the love between two human beings" but more about "a single person being in love with another one". I think it's pretty realistic and it also has very well-directed scenes, great ideas and all that stuff. Once again, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is fucking great and he seems so nice, no one should be allowed to dump him, not even the wonderful Zooey Deschanel... I kinda hated her at the end of the movie, haha.

8/10. Continuing on my "indie movies about love" thing... I think I liked this even better than 500 Days of Summer. Why ? Well, I don't know, I love the whole atmosphere of this movie, I can't really say why... It seems so perfect yet kinda depressing... Zach Braff's character is very interesting while Natalie Portman pulls off her best performance (in my opinion). It also feels like a Wes Anderson movie (who is one of my favorite directors), if you see what I mean. Also, another indie soundtrack that is quite good, loved to see some Shins and Nick Drake in there. So, yeah, just a very very nice movie. Oh and there are some BEAUTIFUL shots at times, Zach Braff should direct more often.

8/10. I guess we can call that one an "indie movie about love" too, hahaha... Seriously, guys, this movie... It's just so cruel, Aaron Eckhart's character is one of the most evil bastards I've ever seen. I mean, just watch the movie, it speaks for itself. I love the very simple directing by the way: static shots, the camera rarely moves... It kinda makes you feel passive and makes you wanna hate the character(s) even more. I don't get why this is labelled as a black comedy though, I didn't laugh much. Great movie anyway.

i love laughing out loud to a woody allen movie.
haha May was hilarious

i recently picked up Bananas. i plan on watching that one soon

Woody Allen is consistently good. I think he hasn't done a really good movie in a while though. Those Scarlett Johannson movies he did sucked..

Anyway, Annie Hall is one of my favorite movies ever.

not bad, bit of abrupt ending but i thought it was better than factotum.

I think the last good movie he did was Curse Of The Jade Scorpion.
which i think was pretty entertaining.

Celebrity is an enjoyable movie too. I don't find a lot of fans talking about that one. it's a shame.

did you watch ovation last night???? I was going to watch this but Ryan put it on skateboarding the new maloof money cup was coming on.

funnier than I expected. Crispin Glover was amazing. Chevy Chase was completely unnecessary.

never tire of this movie. And I love how it was like the real original Grind House idea betwixt the two... I mean they basically tricked audiences (and the industry) into seeing a schlocky vampire flick by disguising it as a dialogue heavy gangster flick (which was what QT was known for at the time). So awesome.

I don't care if it's not the hip or film-snob-approved thing to say -- THIS is my favorite Zombie movie. Seriously.

I think it's a fair shout. It's probably the one I enjoy watching the most (along with Fulci's Zombie Flesheaters). I'd still say Night and Dawn are 'better' movies but for sheer entertainment value, you can't really beat Return.

that's kind of what I was getting at. I feel like the proper thing to say is that Night or Dawn are your favorite... and as you pointed out, they're probably "better" movies (if we're going by say importance or quality of writing etc), BUT the bottom line is that based on my own personal enjoyment, Return is my favorite. I'll watch that one AT LEAST once or twice a year. But Night & Dawn I can go 3-5 years between viewings.

Absolutely. I increasingly find myself 'appreciating' Night rather than really enjoying it. I still really enjoy Dawn but Return and Zombie Flesheaters just put a massive grin on my face from beginning to end.
