No. Not really. You have so much to learn... :(

alteredcourse 12.12.2006 05:08 AM

i did watch this short flash video made by a couple of students who acknowledged how unbearably boring the movie can be to some people . the flash made a "2001 in a nutshell" , and where there would be 10 minutes of bloody NOTHING theyd write what was supposedly implied by scenes liek that . and yes, the concept of it all IS very interesting , but kubricks presentation was unbearable . despite the ideas, i would rather stab myself in the face with a running chainsaw than watch it again .

alteredcourse 12.12.2006 05:11 AM

also , heh , thats weak .
sure i have lots to learn but come on , enjoying a movie doesnt hold a measure of ones intelligence .

2001 is a masterpiece....and bashing it is not making you look cool...

well, on this topic, I really hated Mullholland Drive...if altered can bash Kubrick, then I can rag Lynch...

i also hate hate this one movie with william h macy...i cant even find it on imdb, it is the most boring thing ive ever seen, the only reason i watched all of it was because i thought the point had to be coming sooner or later.

also, any piece of any John waters that ive seen....female trouble is inexcusable...i "get" the whole Waters schtick, and it is still inexcusable.

I agree

one of the worst I have seen was some monster movie from the fifties called Attack of the 50 Foot Woman......or something of that nature.

you can take that , right ?

well the effects in 2001 are nothing compared to what can be done today, so this has to be seen in context.

however it is still a kick ass movie but it takes a certain state of mind to enjoy its aesthetics. i will confess to falling asleep the first time i saw it, and i would fall asleep again perhaps, but i've also really enjoyed it. however i have other kubrick movies i prefer. for its time however it was quite an achievement.

You gotta remember when it was made. People had some fucking patience then. Good things take time, and it is one of the best movies ever made.

? I find the special effects are way better than anything done today. It looks much more realistic.

I totally agree. People are conditioned to watch films with a much faster pace nowadays. Even Die Hard makes people yawn or fall asleep. Maybe it has something to do with the way video games and ad's rush through our minds at the speed of light.

Trasher02 12.12.2006 04:30 PM

The underground Comedy

Do not ever rent this movie.

Since when are you home? I tried calling you earlier and noone was home. I'll try again after this post. You have to introdce me to more movies; American Hardcore looks great.

Well I'm very narrow in the field of movies, but The Lion Kind 2 was horrid. And the Matrix should have stayed as just a single movie

We hear about this day-in, day-out in media class. It's fascinating, really. aMusic videos are also a potential cause, with all the 3 second cuts, nothing stays on the screen for more then, say, 10 seconds, because they want to keep yr (already fucked) attention on the shitty video... (get it?)

Tokolosh 12.12.2006 04:46 PM

Yep! We're all very spoilt when it comes to stimulating the brain cells to open up the adrenal medulla.

It's almost all shot-by-shot with Hitchcock,so it isn't all that bad. Sure, when you stack it up against the aura and atmosphere of the original, it's shit, but it's still a good movie, and Van Sant did the right thing by remaking it shot-by-shot.

Vaughn, Heche, Macy, Moore and Mortensen are all okay in it.

Savage Clone 10.31.2007 06:59 PM

"Entrails Of A Virgin" is the worst movie I've seen recently.

Wrong, not only was it miscast it was just a terrible idea. There is no reason whatsoever to remake "Psycho", it was a dumb idea, about as dumb an idea as someone saying "Let's remake "Rear Window" and we can cast Christopher Reeves in it, because you know, he's really in a wheelchair.

atari 2600 10.31.2007 07:27 PM
