yeah, as if chabib couldn't see the second "s" in your username and the post count.

topics like this make me distant from this board.

I really like these two. And the interior design/ computer innards one. I really like the SYR series as well. So, erm, well done.

That's wrong. I feel ill. I'm never making a positive post again.

CUNT.

i aim to disappoint. i'm not sure if i was explaining anything, clarifying something i didn't agree with or just being obnoxious for the sake of conversation. i've never categorized myself as an artist. i've always said, "i make things" or "i'm a designer." others have categorized me as an artist--either for the sake of brevity or because that's the label they felt best suited me. that's their perogative.

my ex-girlfriend was an incredible artist. watching her process and seeing her stuff in museums in galleries when she was done with it did a lot to make it evident to me that there's a massive difference between art and design.

so then, i guess i was just being obnoxious for the sake of conversation.

Funny that, coming from someone who rightly accuses me of starting internet arguments left, right and centre just because I can't understand anything about a physical world and like to rub things--many things in many wrong ways. My art is miscommunication and I am a master--masturbater!

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't criticizing your work at all. I like a lot of the designs and filmwork you've produced over the years. The whole issue about art or design having to be fresh and innovative is a load of bollocks, if you ask me.
Who cares what people that haven't even taken the time to look at the work think.

Really????????Innovative doesn't necessarily mean good(and by now even the walls know that) but art not having to sound or look fresh?I'm gobsmacked by some of the stuff that you post sometimes. What sort of statement is that?As far as graphic design is concerned,it is certainly a form of visual art because creativity goes into making it.The whole issue about high or low art is more of a right candidate for a bollocking than art having to be fresh or not.

Tokolosh 11.13.2006 12:56 PM

Some might disagree with me, but that Kid A thread you started is a good example of what I trying to say.
It wasn't that innovative or fresh for it's time, but it's still is a great album in it's entirety.

Some art might look like nothing new on the surface, but it's underlying concept could be revolutionary.
Therefore, you can only come to a conclusion, when you fully understand what the artist is trying to say with it.

Art isn't necessarily defined by creativity, by the way.

Will you ever sell out?
Oh, I’ll sell out anytime anybody wants me to. There are no buyers.

I'm not aware of chabib having a lucrative position with any corporation. Let's not forget how expensive NYC is, either. Elected officials there have essentially been zoning out the non-wealthy for a good while now. It seems to me he must get by on a lot of passion. I've had that idea before myself to place artworks out into exterior environments and take pictures of the installation. It melds fine visual art with photography nicely. Those that you shared look great.

What’s the story with you and Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo? I heard they got kicked out of your ensemble.
They didn’t get kicked out, but they did piss me off. We were on a European tour for my Symphony No. 4, and they started spray-painting sonic youth on the stage where we were playing. We were touring with a symphony! But that was okay. I mean, I don’t care how big an asshole someone is—and by the way, they’re not assholes—but if their music is good, I don’t care if they’re psychos.
