All the early eps are great and really worth checking out.

I actually have everything they ever put out. Multiple formats. Only band I've done that for as well. So yeah, still like them lots and lots. Their new band (projekt ako) is pretty grand as well.

Apart from Whippin Picadilly (I don't like that song either) the first album is actually quite good. The following albums on the other hand are boring.

The electric soft parade

I forgot to mention them before, but this thread was kinda made for them in the sense that i stand behind their first album wholeheartedly, but never paid any attention to them after that.

With hindsight, the cover of that album bears alot of resemblance to The Anal Staircase by Coil.

Good album for all fans of indie-rock with a bit of psych thrown in

rootdown 04.22.2011 05:07 PM

I forgot about Sub Pop's Hazel.

Glice 05.10.2011 04:16 AM

Cay
Travis (pre-shit)
Feeder (if we must)
Dive Dive. Ok, I don't actually remember Dive Dive, but I was looking for Dustball, who don't seem to exist on youtube.
Nought.

Apparently, a Shifty Disco nostalgia day for me. Hmm.

Hell is For Heroes
With a few years hindsight, i reckon I could have enjoyed quite a bit of "Emo" bands if the singers just SANG, rather than shouting/wailing/screaming like they all felt the need to do (Im looking at you, Funeral for a friend)

Don't you miss that early 2000's alt rock scene Britain had going for awhile? Reuben, Hundred Reasons, Kinesis, yourcodenameis:milo, Hell Is For Heroes, Million Dead, Cooper Temple Clause, InMe (who were kinda shit but I liked them back then). It's like these guys heard 'Relationship Of Command' and all banded together to do a British version of it. I find it sad that these bands just dropped dead like flies and things like the Arctic Monkeys were ushered in as the new sound of British rock music.

yes. All of those bands had something to offer i submit, mainly because their singers chose to SING. I dont think At The Drive in is the right comparison, alot of them started before Relationship of Command.
I like Arctic Monkeys, Maximo Park and Futureheads, and a couple of other bands from that mid 00's period, but its the wailing/shouting/screaming nonsense that ive always hated.

Derek 12.17.2011 06:13 PM

For some reason I thought Relationship of Command was released in 1998. I do remember all of those bands citing At The Drive in as their biggest influence though. I know, I bought rock sound and Kerrang every month when I was 10 years old hahaha.

I imagine they did hear ATDI before 2000. Refused too.
If you liked all them you must have also liked Ikara Colt?

Derek 12.17.2011 06:40 PM

Oshit, I never listened to them back then but I definitely remember that song well.

Derek 12.17.2011 06:43 PM

Hahaha anyone else remember the Von Bondies?

C'MON! C'MON!

they were really good! Alot better than the shitty british attempts at garage rock from the time. Lack of Communication is a great tune. Do you remember the 22-20s? Do you? I had to try REALLY HARD to remember a band that shit!

Derek 12.17.2011 06:57 PM

I don't recall them at all. I do miss being a kid and listening to all those bands though (which is sure to make some of the people here feel old as fuck).
