There are two store in Tel Aviv that celebrate Record Sore Day but they don't carry the SY stuff. :(

Thanks for posting the prices of this stuff cause just when I start to get jealous and think about running out and buying a turntable, I remember the prices and the fact that eventually it's going to scratch.......

Also, the clear sleeve that the pink record comes in is also tinted a very slight pink, I thought that was a nice touch.

I seem to recall my original sst copy doing that too. I'm pretty sure that's nothing to worry about.

Was the Vivian Girls 7" a RSD release? I saw a bunch of those, but passed because I thought it was just a new release and I was running low on cash. I'll pick it up soon though. I can probably pick up an extra if anyone needs a copy.

Did anyone come up with an extra Wooden Shjips RSD 7"? I'd love to get one but it was UK only. I can probably find a copy of the US only Moon Duo RSD 7" for trade or if you are just looking for a copy. If anyone has the Wooden Shjips record please let me know. Thanks!

Gabriel

I believe that is the nature of the vinyl locked groove, the pop you hear is the intersection of the groove leading into the loop and the loop itself. No way around that. it is not a clead digital loop. My original SST version does the same thing...

Anyone know how many copies of Hits Are For Squares were pressed? Seems like Evol and CIS would've been numbered too.

Must've been quite a few, as there's no shortage of them in comparison to CIS & EVOL. Maybe 5k or 10k?
What's the highest number anyone has? Mine's only 0213.

Rob Instigator 04.21.2010 07:55 AM

The list that was passed around said there were 5000 of Hr4S

I got two, a 2227, and a 3285

Yeah, but is that for the US or worldwide? The list I had only showed the UK totals (eg 300 copies of the Soundgarden 7", when Sub Pop's website lists 5475 total). It also didn't have any figures for Hits.

Rob Instigator 04.21.2010 10:58 AM

My list seemed to be a worldwide total.

I never knew they blacked that pic out! I actually took that from flickr...I can take a pic of the original sst copy I have if you want. I decided to leave these rsd copies sealed (im a dork).

Also I noticed for the first time on the sst sister insert it says under the Sear Sound info 'march & april 1987' implying the months of recording of course...I never noticed that before, rechecking my blast first lp reissue, it gets cut off and the cd and cassette version don't have that at all. Total trivial nerd shit!!!

Chris Lawrence 04.30.2010 02:38 AM

well i am nothing if not a trivial nerd!

my "mute" copy of EVOL has the pic blacked out. i'd love to see a close-up scan to determine why the hell they blacked it out, since the copyright police surely ignored 'friday the 13th part 2' and 'children of the corn' imagery...

Rob Instigator 04.30.2010 09:13 AM

I hate the copyright police!

I too have not yet opened my EVOL or CIS.

Looks like a movie still? Never gave it much thought.
