extra lifes album is fantastic! no arguement!

This strikes me as the sort of message board that wouldn't get excited over this, but I'm super-psyched for the new Joanna Newsom record due February.

Yeah, me too. Ys was fantastic.

New Extra Life is good, not as good as the first one...

Drunkdriver upped a song off their new album on their myspace. Both Pink Reason and Twin Stumps have live cassettes coming out.

The new Extra Life is terrible. What happened?

I liked the first one, but the 2nd is head and shoulders above that.

batreleaser 02.03.2010 07:32 PM

stoked to hear this us girls

I'm listening to the new Xiu Xiu... has this been out long? I just saw it on someone's soulseek and downloaded it. Anyway, it's sounding pretty good so far... strays into a more normal territory than usual but just really good songs.

Though I've only heard the first half of the album... the second half might just be soundclips of Jamie Stewart having sex with a man and woman at the same time.

I've listened to a few 2010 records:

"Astro Coast" by Surfer Blood has some good songs but the whole album is not so great.

"There Is Love in You" by Four Tet is really really cool, I should check out his other records but this one is a pretty good IDM album.

"Heartland" by Owen Pallett, probably my favorite album of the year for the moment, I think it's just so nice and creative. I should listen to his stuff under the Final Fantasy name (which I avoided because of the name, ahah !)

It hasn't arrived yet. Yesterday I've heard ''Turnaround Time'' off a blog, and it blew my mind. She is just too good for this world. Can't wait for the 1st of March.

Just obtained new Pink Reason cassette... looking forward to listening.

Also, I don't get how Inca Ore, Zola Jesus or Grouper are compared to her apart from the obvious female component. Meg has a rhythmic sensibility that those three can only dream of. Often her songs remind me of what would happen if an African tribe took the best acid and partied in some hidden corner of outer space. That fucking good.

Genteel Death 02.06.2010 09:04 AM

Again, Brian Eno? WTF?
