baker decks makes you do fucked up tricks.

That does have a striking resemblence to Ed's artwork. But the original artist did a great job.
Have you ever heard of a skate shop called, PUSH? I only ask 'cuz I went down to Asheville to see the Dino Jr. gig, & I dropped by the shop, & they had a unique set-up where it was an art gallery, & a skate shop. Mostly artwork from an art group called, Segment 16. Oh, & while I was in there, the skate video that was playing at the time was playing SY's "Superstar" cover. |

I never could get the hang of Smith grinds, or feebles for that matter. I don't know why. |
fs smiths are super easy and super fun. just lock in and hang over. haha check out tricktips on www.skateboarding.com they really help.

The last time I learned a trick from something other than myself was in a 411 video. I forgot who it was, but they landed a double kickflip sex-change over a bank. Right then I said to myself, I have to learn that trick. Never learned the double flip part, but kickflip sex-change is one of my favorite tricks to land. Thanks for the link.
|
haha i always thought it was a funny trick. i never thought it was cool or that it looked gnarly it just came in handy when you're playing skate.
|
I agree it looks silly on flat-ground, but over a bank or some stairs, it looks pretty damn tight.
I think it's all in the height that you get from the ollie, I guess. |
fs flips are the shiznit.
Too bad all the andrew reynolds wanna be's do it all the time. i can only hit it on flat-ground though, stairs and gaps are a little too hard |
Yeah, I hate how certain tricks become trendy.
I agree, there are only certain tricks that I can do down a stair case. & a limited # of stairs that I can land tricks off of. |
i'd like to try bigger stair sets. Unfortunatly we don't have that much spots in our town. Any way i'm off to go skating right now... i'll be sure to land a sick trick for u.
|
Thanks. Make sure to tell me what you land. & for god's sake, try to get a photo of it.
Trust me, you probably have more spots where you live than in this shitty ass redneck town. No spots anywhere. |
I used to skateboard quite a bit, but my deck sucked and after a while I stopped. I'd like to resume, but I really don't have the money for a new deck. It was neat though, a few months ago I waked into a skate shop and the dude at the counter and I had a long talk about Sonic Youth (I had my take a sip shirt on).

Yeah, but what kind of skate shop was it? Was it like PUSH w/ an art gallery & cool little artifacts like that? I just thought the PUSH skate shop was fucking great. I just love unique skate shops like that. Pluto's for life! |

haha naw, it was just a small Fokus shop. Is the Sonic Youth skateboard any good? |
I don't know. I haven't tried it out, yet. I'm sure Ed has tried it out.

Or just try not to do too many boardslides. It probably has the same paint coating as most brand name baords have. You know what I'm talking about, right. When you do baordslidees & you can see marks, but it doesn't ware down the graphics on the baord. If that made any sense.
|
i'll probably just keep the board and try to get it autographed by Pro's (especially ED) and sy.

Dirty Boots (i don't know who skated on it though) in the Emerica - yellow film( very old one) |
We should start a thread for Ed T's artwork. I think people who don't skate would be impressed by it. He's a very artistic person.
& not to mention, a huge SY fan. |
