I was in this pancake place this weekend. Friends invited us. I'm thinking, okay, I'm not too into sugary, filling pancakes, I'll be safe getting an omelot. OMG. It was a baked omelot. Not fried. Gross. I ate it because I was hungry but it made me sick afterwards.

Sorry, I don't do the heavy food thang very well.

They also had regular coffee for like a buck, and their "gourmet grinds," one of which I got, for around 3 bucks a cup. It tasted exactly like my wife's 1 dollar cup.

Suffice to say, we will not return.

biscuits and gravy made by restaurants is usually not very good. they use corn starch to thicken the gravy... and it tastes like shit. gravy done right is delicious.

i'm not a fan of pancakes either. they make me feel bad later.

you know what makes me feel the worst?! DONUTS.

Yeah. Donuts. They sit there like big wads of dough in your stomach.

So my omelet was supposed to be covered in a sherry sauce. The sauce looked like gravy dumped out of jar. Nothing at all sherry about it. Why do these places suck so bad?

i hate the feeling that the inside of your mouth is covered in grease after eating a donut. ick.

we have a great breakfast place .9 miles from here. (i know it's .9 miles because it's next to my bar) they really do a very good job with their breakfast food. delicious gravy.

I should have known it was going to be bad by how many people were there. Seems counterintutive, but I realized later they couldn't possibly serve a huge crowd like that without taking shortcuts like baking their eggs instead of frying.

biscuits are similar to scones, but fluffier? and you know brown gravy...it's similar to brown gravy... made from meat drippings, but it is milk or cream based rather than broth based.

What the fuck is an omelot?

it's usually 2 to 3 eggs whipped up.. and cooked in a round pan then filled with ingredients... like cheese and veggies and flipped over in half on itself. the eggs because of the way they are cooked are stiff... not like fried eggs or scrambled eggs.
