Sorry to join in with the you're-wrong-fest, but you really are so wrong. Scanners is second tier Cronenberg for me, which puts it below Rabid, Shivers, Crimes of the Future and Videodrome, but above The Fly (debatably) and a long way above anything he's done in the last ten years. It's about on a par with The Brood, Dead Ringers or The Dead Zone for me.

Scanners is pretty boring, it's not even the best movie in the Scanners series for christ's sakes! (Scanners IV: Scanner Cop being the best)

Well, holy shit. That pretty much floored me. I need to ruminate a bit before I know what I really think, but DAMN, at the very least it was somehow unlike anything else I've seen before. I highly recommend you see it, but there's no way I'm going to be able to describe now in a way that wouldn't belittle it.
