The Mats Gustafsson / Thurston Moore LP 'Vi Ar Alla Guds Slavar' is at the printers, so subject to some fine sounding test pressings that should arrive any day now and will probably be the next OTOroku release available. |

this is out now (since June 3): Sonic Youth + The Ex + ICP - In The Fishtank (LP reissue) |

Actually, that's not true. That compilation was released a while ago, not sure of the exact date. Cape Tubbers' Bandcamp page has it noted as January 1st, 2011, whereas Dinosaurs in Vietnam's wordpress site states it was on January 1st of 2012. I came across it just a few months ago and found no traces of it being mentioned at Sonic Gossip or any other Sonic Youth related outlet by anyone previously, and so I posted the link to all pertinent places, including the Sonic 2012 thread here. I can see why it would have passed kind of unnoticed (I'm surprised to see you, Stu, taking this as something new). Judging by the posts on that old thread, we were all dealing with the Dumpster Diving Lab fiasco regarding "Play Some Fucking Stooges". So, the bad news is that the new compilation by Dinosaurs in Vietnam which was supposed to include a new Lee Ranaldo track (according to I Multiply, as they published on their Bandcamp site here) is not out yet even though I do remember it also was noted that the whole thing would be out by the spring of this year (that part is now gone from those notes, though). |

I was wondering if there will be 2 albums from Lee coming this year. There is the accoustic LP (recorded in Barcelona) that's coming in October. But, last week at the gig in Hasselt, he also mentioned they just finished recording a new album. So, that could be album nr. 2. The follow-up to 'Between the times ...'. I certainly hope so :) |

This might not belong to here, but where else will it make sense, then?
Keith Cameron's biography of Mudhoney, "Mudhoney: The Sound And The Fury From Seattle", due to be released in September 2, 2013, counts with the collaboration of Thurston Moore as one of the figures contextualizing the history of Mudhoney. Here's a taste: ![]() |

Both long-time supporters of extreme music and proponents of free improvisation, John and Thurston are brilliant improvisers and have worked with everyone from Derek Bailey, Milford Graves and Evan Parker to Cecil Taylor, Fred Frith, Han Bennink and beyond. Exhibiting a deep musical connection, they come together here for the first time to create a fabulous program of varied and powerful duo improvisations. “@” presents the community of NY’s Downtown scene at its collaborative best. |
