when you're a teenager and in your early 20s, you think your friends are like blood brothers 4evarr etc etc.

but then everyone get their girlfriend/gayfriend/wife/husband/partner & they become so occupied with relationship/family life that friends recede to the background.

now people can keep and build new friendships after becoming domesticated, but it's rarer than before. friendship takes time and work and when the majority of your energy goes elsewhere well duh.

this of course does not mean the end of your social life.

the wife and i see friends every week-- some are hers, some are mine, some are common. but they are not BLOOD BRUTHAS 4EVARRRR. it's a more quiet thing.

and really, as much as i like hanging out here, internet friends can't help you move house.

as for the "best friend" title, i've moved around so much that it's hard to keep those frienships; and then time passes and your highschool friend and you have little in common--oh yeah garden state didn't "discover"that. but anyway. friendships mutate. sometimes you're friend with someone for years and they turn into assholes and you gotta say bye. sometimes you change & everything around you changes. that's life.

now as for my unrequested advice to fénix: find a new house without rabbit shit where you can actually have people over & entertain them in a civilized manner, have dinner parties, orgies, what have you-- shit free of course.

character guy seems logical to some people's lives, but def not others. Everyone's paths are different. you know?

I've had people over for food. and things. wine sushi music alcohol drugs whathave you.

i can only offer as an excuse that i had a bad case of conjunctivitis, had a swollen & painful eyelid, and was engaged in an IM conversation while i crankily replied yesterday afternoon.

i've never had bff and what little friends i have, i think i'm too social and make friends pretty easily.

i don't think i'm a creep for not having to see 100 morons a week and pretend like they are my family. i think i'm doing ok, i'd love to meet new people if they are interesting and easy going, why not, but it's not something i'm stressed about.
