If GBH and The Exploited (to name just two obvious ones) aren't hardcore I don't know what is.

fuck off.

hows that for "hardcore"????

Mr potato head,i'm sure you are a nice guy and all that but you're also a contrary naysayer of the first order.I prescribe a journey in time or to put it more abruptly an old fashioned:'Fuck Right Off!'.

Thanks for the education, Mr. Zygote.

Now who's talking like they were there when they weren't?

I think Pookie and I, having lived through this time as young people in the thick of it, have just as much if not more insight to offer on this stuff, but your desire to talk about this like it's some kind of college course that can be passed or failed is counterproductive and it isn't even fun to argue about.

I'm sorry I said anything now.

so where have you obtained yr info on AMERICAN hardocer...book? mags? documentaries? albums?

same as me.

I was 'there' inasmuch as I was around at the time, buying the records, reading the interviews, going to see the bands.

And I think there is room for differences of opinion, I will have different memories and a different understanding than another person who was 'there' at the time.

I think the problem with your views is that they are so contradictory and plain wrong.

Pookie 12.07.2006 06:11 PM

I must admit to getting a certain amount of peverse pleasure from ripping somebody's arguments to shreds.

I'll stop now, I've had my fun.

Savage Clone 12.07.2006 06:19 PM

At the time, I thought Minor Threat were super lame, actually.
Still do.

Savage Clone 12.07.2006 06:21 PM

I was just being flip; I realize now that it probably came off as more combative than playful.
I am American, by the way.

yr right...you were "there"

hardcore was "HERE"

so ya bought a fukin minor threat album..who gives a fuck. you catch em in DC? i doubt it. you catch ag. front in NY? i doubt that too.

even IF ya did...you were on fukin vacation.

PHD in hardcore, I see. Pookie, it might not be best to fuck (should it be spelled "fuk" for maximum effect?) with this bro, he's got knowledge.

It doesn't matter where Pookie was at the time it was happening, bands do tour, jack-ass, and him actually being alive at the time when it was going on gives him alot more credibilty than some opinionated, self-loving twat on the internet talking about what he didn't do as if it's something he has done. Shut up, you sound like a moron.

porkmarras 12.07.2006 06:23 PM

The only person i befriended in my life who is a Minor Threat fan went on to join the army.Enough said.Such harsh points of view reflected really badly on the music.

Well, seeing as "yrself" is an intentional spelling, it's not an error. Plus, you just tried to talk about my spelling, and just said "pole."

The POLL'S are for a sonic gossip yearbook, which is for a laugh and for fun, which is obviously something you are not familiar with the concept of.

Fillin' out some pole.

Pookie 12.07.2006 06:33 PM

What's my favourite? I hear you ask.

MDC is mine. They never made an album as great as Millions Of Dead Cops again, but it's short, sweet, funny and furious.

About 20 minutes long and not a second wasted.

k-krack 12.07.2006 06:33 PM

Wait... did you just call me "cheese-fuck?!" I hope that's not trying to offend or anything...
