no, what I mean is that these artists (and their fans) are out of place considering the rest of the artists that have played atp (and were usually associated with John Peel).

Do you really feel that My Chemical Romance would be relevant to the festival when playing alongside the likes of Sonic Youth, the Fall, Shellac, Dalek, Mogwai and Aphex Twin?

My Chemical Romance are the worst thing to come out of music in the past 500 years.

Oh come on really! I can listen to a John Cage record and at the same time appreciate a MCR record. I Like to mix up what im listening to. I could be listening to Bartok one minute, Merzbow the next. Hence my ideal gig would be a mixture of all these things, free from elitist snobbory. There is a level of passion and energy in MCR's music which is impossible to resist. Sorry if it doesn't fit in with a lot of people's lexicon of 'cool' but then a lot of good music doesn't.:p

porkmarras 08.16.2006 05:20 AM

Nothing to do with cool here matey!!!Thay are crap.I wasn't judging your music taste at all as i barely know who you are.I'm just saying that My Chemical Romance are rubbish, that's all.

Washing Machine 08.16.2006 05:31 AM

Okay I can see your point, its just a lot of people have problems with bands like MCR for the wrong reasons. One of my friends copied the record for me and I have to admit the first time I listened to it I agreed with with you. They didn't seem to be much different from the rest of the bands that were being put out by that 'scene', but on repeated listens It became obvious that they were far and above the rest in my opinion anyways. I just can't understand why they are the "worst thing to come out of music in the past 500 years" lol

porkmarras 08.16.2006 05:54 AM

Well, they are because they the entire history of recorded music association(or EHRMA)says so.

LittlePuppetBoy 08.16.2006 11:00 AM

If MCR played it, there would be prepubescent little kids in black and eyeliner running around ATP.

You mean there won't be otherwise? You could put me off going, saying stuff like that.

Hip Priest 08.16.2006 11:04 AM

If I curated ATP, 'ATP' would stand for 'Aphex Twin Phestival', and it'd be wall-to-wall APhex Twin, a total celebration of his life and work. Recordings, live performances and in conversation. It's be the best f***ing weekend of your life.

I'd be down for this festival, although I'd like to add Coughs and replace ANb with Two Dead Sluts, One Good Fuck, and maybe also bring Gang Wizard and Tralphaz along. Ettrick and Oaxacan, too!

Any fans of Masonna need to hear (better yet see) Tralphaz.
