I don't care whether she masturbates. But I do care about one thing....great pop songs!
I know you do daycare, i know.
And how is that?
Because you've said it twice now in the past 10 minutes.
I don't recall having said that I have an interest in Coco's masturbation habits.
No, that you like pop songs.
Who doesn't? Noise albums are only fun if you are the one making them.
This may be true, but sonic youth have made very few "noise" albums considering what most people classify noise as and what you probably are right now (wolf eyes, merzbow etc.) Sister is NOT a noise album. SY love feedback and walls of white noise but don't rely on it to write songs. Pop albums are fun but they can lose their touch easily and get boring after a few plays.

take it outside or shut the fuck up. PLEASE.

Yeah but Rather Ripped is not getting old, and neither does any truly great pop record. Only bad pop gets old. |

She's got a point, this is neverending. I'm done.

You're done, and Rather Ripped is the winner! Incinerate!

Rather Ripped IS a bad pop album. Sonic Youth are not used to making such a low-key pop album, so it came out subpar. If they had thrown in more noise and signature dissonance, it could have worked out much beter. If you listen to mid 90's Flaming Lips, they mix noise and pop effortlessly into perfection. SY are lazy with the approach. It's like they didn't really try all that hard. I have no idea how you can support this album in such a manner.

And the last few SY albums HAVE NOT been boring. Murray Street was amazing and so was Sonic Nurse. Both albums hit a couple of small snags that throw off the album some what, Murray Street has Plastic Sun and Nurse has a couple of breif spots that slow it down near the end of the album. NYC Ghosts & Flowers may have been a bit of a misstep, but there's still enough material on thier that's worth listening to. A Thousand Leaves also has a few great tracks as well. It's not one of their besat overall albums, but still some great songs. These albums are jsut a biut mellower than their 80's material. You have to learn to love it. I have no idea how you can sit there and honestly tell me you like Rather Ripped than any of these other albums. It's lunacy. Pure lunacy.

I can support it because another album with "signature dissonance" would have been boring. |
