You're very strange in terms of the music you play, in that you are bitter so visibly in your public outings rather than the music you play. Hey! Daddy died! Our hero!

DeadDiscoDildo 12.30.2010 06:04 PM

^^Yer old.

atsonicpark 12.30.2010 06:26 PM

Thanks for those who supported me, in both the music and the movies I have created, it really means a lot to me, I can't overstate it enough.

Also, I have enjoyed a shit ton of forum musics, but I won't make a list, in fear that I'll leave out someone.

deflinus 12.30.2010 11:19 PM

i dig everyone's music and creations

Thanks for all the kind words about Listening Mirror.
Hopefully we'll be back in the New Year with some more 'unsafe for driving' music.

Yes.

I remember the first time I heard the second half of Grotesque by the fall and I could feel myself about to go off the road haha.

atsonicpark 12.31.2010 07:59 PM

A few years back, someone on here pm'd me and I had many discussions with them about their music, it sounded like an even more warped take on Polvo, I wish I could remember the band... if anyone remembers pm'ing me back and forth a few years ago and us talking about Polvo, lemme know.

I have been writing a lot of stuff, Robe. is going to sound completely different for phase 2, I think I took the trombones and trumpets over doom drone thing as far as it can go really. I think NIGHT TERROR was by far our best album, the one I was always trying to make. As for SS, that stuff always takes forever to record, since there are so many layers, so much going on, the stuff I've been writing for that is a bit more, eh, conventional, kinda surfy and very bass driven, and I have a real drummer now to boot. To be honest, I get kind of burnt out on recording, my main love is making movies, because you can incorporate music, poetry, art, etc. IN your films. Anyway, I was sorta proud of the some of the stuff I did recently, and I'm my toughest critic, but I was happy with my film Currently Untitled, Psychic Existentialism, Night Terrors, and the uuuuuu split... I'm going to keep doing this stuff till I die, just like I've been doing since I was 12... I also will continue to release everything I do for free... I just want peopel to have it, I have no interest whatsoever in making money from the stuff I do for fun. I guess my biggest accomplishment this year was screening 3 films at a local theatre, as well as getting Blaze on television in Oregon (also, for winning an award at a Canadian film festival). Also, the Currently Untitled response has made me genuinely happy, a museum in Japan is showing it next year.

I guess my biggest "success" of the year was when Crucial Blast released BLEAK by Robe., and Rue Morgue (the horror movie magazine from Canada) featured an article about it. That was pretty cool, admittingly. I didn't buy a copy of the magazine, but I had a relative who did. Haha. I've always kinda shrugged my shoulders about that type of stuff. Like I said, my goal is just to get people to hear the stuff, not to be some kind of star.

Anyway, for those who want the entire Robe. discography, it's here -- http://www.archive.org/details/Robe....06To10-10-2010 ... My entire recorded output is available on last.fm, go to http://www.last.fm/music/Adam+Cooley/ and you can find Stagedive Suicide, Ranger Raccoon, RUINHORSE, Scissor Shock, etc. links with everything else... finally, all my films and animations are available to watch online at http://www.youtube.com/user/blazethedeer and http://www.youtube.com/user/mradamcooley ... and for download at http://directoradamcooley.angelfire.com ... free free free!

For 2011, I think I'm going to start my own record label, entitled NO. I want to release my stuff myself from now on, and I want to release my friends' stuff as well. BTW, I really appreciate the people who supported me; this has been one of the most difficult times in my life, personally... but I've noticed a LOT of my youtube watches come from this forum, and I get really nice PM's/emails from people on here as well. I really appreciate it. My best friends and biggest, eh, "fans", seem to have stemmed from here. In other words, I couldn't do it without your guys's support.

I also want to thank Pauly personally for showing my films, and Blaze! I also gotta thank Derek for supplying me with additional music for my films. Derek and I have a great relationship, as I often try to make the scenes with his music, the most memorable.. in turn, I have gotten tons of people into UUUUUU since I am CONSTANTLY getting emails and questions about purchasing soundtracks, or who did the music in certain parts. Stock answer: "I don't have soundtracks for my movies and never will, but the prettier dronier stuff is usually via UUUUUU, and the piano stuff is played by my girlfriend 99% of the time. Everything else is by me."

Anyway, thanks again everyone. I'm going to try to accomplish as much as I can this following year, though I'm starting to run out of energy. I guess my resolution is to just live each day to its fullest.

HEY SLAVO, thanks for -- a long time ago -- contributing the song title "Shit Electronics". I ended up recording a song earlier this year called "Ghost/Shit Electronics" ("ghost" being the part of the song with the country music stuff and the avant-progressive stuff and the telephone vocal rants about "VAMPIRES FEED ON ONE-NOTE SIMPLCIITY SCHEMES, SALIVATING IN THE AFTERGLOW OF AN UNFRAGMENTE DDILATED PIXELATED DISTILLED DYSTOPIAN'S NEMESIS NEGLECT", while the "shit electronics" part of the song is the little section where the bass and the moog play the same notes for about 100 notes really quickly, one of the most difficult compositions I've ever did, it took about 15 takes to get it correctly. You can listen here: http://soundcloud.com/mradamcooley ... that reminds me, I was so happy to finally record the 9 minute title track, that song literally has a thousand or so overdubs, and it's comprised of riffs and sections dating back to 2 years ago... fuck! The last few live shows I did, I just played that song and "psychic vision of a strangulated woman who is missing her show" and that was the whole set).

Oh yeah, Kyle is making Robe. shirts. Email deepshivmaximus@hotmail.com .
