It's amazing how some asinine mistake of a topic can turn into some decently thoughtful discussion. That's why I like it. There's a pub opposite a branch of McDonalds in the town I live in and it's common to see drinkers walk out of the pub, pop into the McDonalds for a bite to eat, no doubt to sober up a little, and then walk back into the pub to continue drinking. Do you get that in the States?

In the states it's more like drinking til you puke in the alleyway and then going back into the bar to order another round

I was in McDonalds with a friend the other week when a guy popped in from the pub opposite, ordered a meal, and sat at a table near us. He took a few bites of the burger before he slowly dropped his head on the table and dozed off. It was pretty funny to see.

Eating McDonalds alone makes me puke so I guess both ways serve the same purpose. I'd rather save my extra $2 for a drink special.

One time my brother and I got smashed and then walked a distance to Carl's Jr. The sun was rising by the time we ate our burgers.

The beauty of McDonalds is the food is cheap. Clearly much cheaper than pub food, hence the regular visits from drinkers who spend the money they've saved on more booze! :)
