Probably my NES collection.

I've had the toploader since I was 2, and have been building up my game library ever since.
I currently have 66 games, but I had a few more that were traded/sold for various reasons over the years.

Either that, my 1987 Mercury Tracer w/ hatchback, or my much larger DVD collection.

I'll be holding you to this. trust me, the last thing you'll want is a 65 year old me hunting you down for prune juice money.

My friend had well over 300 NES games. He was on a quest to get them all, even at the exclusion of paying bills and stuff to support his "habit". Not even joking. He eventually said "fuck it" and sold all of them except Journey to Silius...

I had well over 100 Genesis games at one point. Now I'm at the point where I kinda just don't want any.

The Lovebuzz single. (I keep that shit locked up)
My first printing of AMS 583 (My marvel comics collection in general, I don't have too many treasures per se, but I've got enough good stuff to make it worth quite a bit)
My Blood on the Beach VHS Tape
My Mascis Jazzmaster

Hip Priest 07.08.2009 06:57 PM

Music; an promo cassette for Aphex Twin's 'Classics'. I'm assuming it's rare.

Other; I have some rare books and commemorative medals and stuff like that, but the rarest is probably an old (1860's-ish token for the Liverpool horse-drawn carriage service).

Derek Bailey/Jamie Muir- Dart drug vinyl signed by Derek bailey.
Fender Musicmaster, not very valuable but rare.

Everyneurotic 07.08.2009 08:03 PM

like adam said, the futurist, rarest thing ever i have.

second rarest:
boris - vein
acid mothers temple - hello good child 7"
melt-banana - 666 6"
simon & garfunkel - the graduate soundtrack (mexican edition)
fairport convention - liege & lief (original tan label)
fairport convention - unhalfbricking (argentinian cd)
the mars volta - televators and inertiatic esp picture 12"s
mono - one stap more & you die (first edition)

i have tons of noise shit that's out of print now and probably worth some, birth refusal 7" + cd-r, sick llama cd-r, hair police's blow out your blood first edition, ahlzagailzehguh's water like witch's oil tape, etc.

scissor shock's the mars travolta/you're all slime tape!!!

i have tons of old metal and alternative tapes, the rarest i have is probably danzig's mother single.

I have an original marquee poster from the Beatles "Help" movie from when it first came out. It's huge, like 4' x 5'. I know it's genuine because I nagged the theatre manager for it as only a little kid can.

I made just over £10,000 from selling my retro videogame collection (~1300 titles, including the complete worldwide (Euro/US/Brazil) Sega Master System library) throughout 2007/8, including one game (the original "blue" version of MegaDrive World Championship Soccer 2) that made £750, which is by a huge margin the most that a PAL MegaDrive game has ever sold for on eBay. I had another dozen or so games that went for £100+.

I've got quite a few fairly valuable rekkids, the pick of the bunch being an unpeeled mono Velvet Underground & Nico :)

Death & the Maiden 07.09.2009 06:52 AM

Flying Nun 25th Anniversary boxset. Probably not worth a lot, but it's the most I've ever spent on music, and I think only 1000 were made.
My main guitar - Epiphone Les Paul, again, not worth much, about $1300 when I bought it.

Phlegmscope 07.09.2009 01:58 PM

My vintage "telecaster", which could go for about $85.

MellySingsDoom 07.09.2009 02:03 PM

I've got an orig copy of the Whitehouse Live Actions 14/22 boot LP, which is worth a bit of moolah. That aside, I don't have anything hugely rare off the top of my head....though I do have a copy of the "Last House On The Left" book signed by David Hess.

- Amazing Spiderman # 1 (worth $40,000 in mint condition... passed down to me... unfortunately, this is far from mint, could still fetch a couple thousand I'm sure)
- an actual copy of Begotten (going for $90 last I looked)
- an actual copy of Nekromantik (goes for around $90 as well)
- an actual copy of the original cut of Murder-Set-Pieces (goes for something ridiculous like $230 ... I hate this movie .. I will get around to selling it soon)

Also, the 2 copies of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" on vinyl, in near-mint condition, I picked up for free at a landfill a few years ago are apparently worth some money on ebay right now so I'll be putting those up soon.

I know there's more but I can't think of.

Since Everyneurotic disappeared again, I'll say that he has an actual copy of The Futurist by Shellac! That's priceless.

Also, since my ...girlfriend... probably won't reply, I'll say that she has at least 3 dolls worth $500... so, there's her contribution to this thread.

Now, go!

I would sell that spider man comic since i don't care for comics that are not in at least NM condition. You could probably still get quite a bit for it. Then again it might hold some personal value to you since it was passed down.

I also have MVC2 but for xbox. The value might go down since MVC2 is coming out again for 360 and ps3 later this month.

All of my other rare shit is either video games or comic books but none are worth too much. I have a sealed copy of Ikaruga and a sealed copy of Nights into Dreams as well as a great condition copy of x men vs street fighter for the saturn (the box set with the ram cart). I also have a full set of batman year one comics, all of which are rated 9.something by the cgc.

atsonicpark 07.09.2009 07:19 PM

Oh fuck yeah, I have Ikaruga as well (not sealed but it's in great condition). One of my all time favorite games!

I have pretty much every SNES game that's sought-after/rare/whatever. WELL, I recently sold quite a few.. E.V.O. ($80), Castlevania: Dracula X ($90! from that piece of shit game!), and so on. I've had 4 copies of Chrono Trigger in my lifetime and 7 copies of Final Fantasy VII. All of those have netted me a pretty penny, and it's nice because I can replace the copies I have over and over until I have the absolute best copy of each game. Hahaha. I'm not so crazy about video game collecting anymore. But I did just sell Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne for $70 and Persona 2 for $66 (without the case even!). So, games are good to me. These are all just things I find at pawn shops too.

Pretty much the only games I've decided to keep are a few rpg's, all my shooters, anything Treasure has had their hands on (except Stretch Panic -- fuck that game), all Contra games, all Castlevania games, all strategy games (I own all the NiS games), and all puzzle games. Which might look like a lot but it's really not, I've owned well over a thousand games and have paired my collection down to... a very small amount, comparatively, recently.....

It can't really be 'vintage' if its only worth 85...

Dead-Air 07.11.2009 01:25 PM

Copy of Kill Yr. Idols autographed by all of Sonic Youth (Steve signed on the sleeve since he doesn't play on it, which shows how brilliant he is!)
