i know i sound like an idiot for this, but i still think scottish people would be pretty fucking pised if someone called them british. they havnt always been apart of the same country, and the backgrounds are still completley different. either way, dumb arguement and i could care less.

Derek 08.16.2008 08:02 AM

I couldn't really give two shits if someone said I was British, cause I am. I'm also Scottish which is part of being British.

My head hurts.

ZEROpumpkins 08.16.2008 08:08 AM

I agree, batreleaser.

What's worse is that even though people (including Scotch people) are explaining what Britain is, they don't seem willing to take on board that they are wrong (and idiotic).

Toilet & Bowels 08.16.2008 08:46 AM

But on the other hand, i think people from Boston would get fucking insulted if you called them American.

but anyways, "i am wrong and idiotic", will that out an end to this ridiculoud debate?

Cantankerous 08.16.2008 09:16 AM

number one, to set the record straight:

britain is england, scotland, and wales.

the united kingdom is england, scotland, wales, and northern ireland.

great britain is an island.

northern ireland is on a different island.

number two, some of the best rock bands ever in history have come out of britain but i have trouble thinking of any real "rock" bands out there these days from britain.

MellySingsDoom 08.16.2008 07:22 PM

^^^ Lady C - I would name Ramleh as being the best rock band in the UK right now. How can I prove it? A tough call, but...wait for a PM - coming "soon"...

the ikara cult 08.16.2008 07:23 PM

In response to the depressing pointlessness of the arguements on this thread....

Have there ever been any noteworthy bands from The Channel Islands or The Shetland Islands or The Isle Of Man? HMMMMM?????

Pookie 08.16.2008 07:26 PM

No.

MellySingsDoom 08.17.2008 05:26 AM

Not "rock" of course, but isn't Mylo from one of the Scottish islands?

Derek 08.17.2008 06:24 AM

Isle of Skye

eduveloper 08.17.2008 06:54 AM

i was wondering if motorhead would be mentioned
who cares about new and old?

Derek 08.17.2008 06:59 AM

Motorhead are sweet.

eduveloper 08.17.2008 07:07 AM

motorhead makes feelgood music, i can't help sticking to the positive vibrations
the "british" Dust Junkys did some rawk i suppose
