Fans of IDM are usually people who think they are way smarter than they actually are. Like myself.

same here, i think for every generation there will always be a group of kids like that. Hopefully a few in every bunch will more onto Sonic Youth as we both did :D

I'm very clever because I am not a fan of anyone but myself and anyone who doesn't care about music so much as to be a fan of anyone which makes them really clever for not being a fan of anyone like those who are fans of a band and who think that they are really clever.

Categorizing fans of a band is stupid indeed (I'm tired of the "Neil Young fans are just a bunch of weed-smoking hippies" remarks I got several times for instance).

In addition people who listen to much more than one band do exist :D
