she's canadian you guys...ive had close encounters with this kind....the 'Yeah' at the end of a sentence for instance, she finds absolutely nothing wrong with...the 'jumping on the tables and dancing after doing shots' should be followed by 'falling off the table, grabbing a chair and tackling a friend into a wall to see who can make the largest hole in the wall'....i kinda wish i was joking about this...but i know this first-hand...

I completely agree with this statement. I've actually been doing some research on this subject (The Scandal of the College Degree). Do you actually have any evidence or documentation that you can lead me to?

Just a bunch of friends with advanced degrees and some with none at all, most of whom live at the exact same income level as one another. I know a high school dropout or two that make a more comfortable living than several others I know with MFA's, and I also know several adjunct professors who all have side gigs at coffeeshops and theaters because they can't afford their student loan payments on their University salaries.
I can only offer anecdotal evidence, which is of little use in empirical research, I'm afraid.

Then again, "empirical research" sounds kinda academic to me.
