We're going to open for them next Tuesday here in Vienna. Good band. Played with Nick's Chalaque a few month ago, but can't remember too much of that night. Monday I'm going to see my good friend Jung An Tagen (Not Not Fun) and Pete Swanson. |

^^^EVOL, where did you find the Hawkwind date?
I just checked the Logan Square Auditorium website and they have NO dates listed for 2014?? I was all set to see Hawkwind in October, then they canceled the tour. This was billed as the "original" Hawkwind touring for the first time since the 70's. Word as they would announce a new tour in 2014, but I haven't seen anything posted or mentioned until your post above. I will be seeing Mogwai on April 25th. |
I also wish to have my face melted off by Hawkwind in North American in the year 2014, and have been monitoring this site http://www.hawkwind.com to see if they post any NA dates. UK and EU only so far. Somewhere on there they say not to buy any tickets for shows not listed on their sites. Who knows what kind of managerial wackiness is involved. What site are you getting the Chicago date from?

Probably Jandek next weekend |
There's a new festival in my hometown on June 6 and 7 called eindhoven psych lab. Think I'll go even though I only know Disappears and Peter J Taylor. Both already once played the Effenaar on the same night, which was great fun. Are any of those other bands any good? Early bird tix are 45 Euros, regular price is 62,50.
Eindhoven’s Effenaar music venue and Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia are thrilled to announce EINDHOVEN PSYCH LAB: a new European festival, located in the Netherlands and established to explore and showcase the futuristic sights and sounds of the modern psychedelic condition. The line up will swell and morph as the festival approaches, featuring more bands, experiments, dj’s, and visual artists. But until you’ll hear from us again, there’s more than enough to enjoy right here! ![]() |
Nisennenmondai is awesome and cosmic dead is awesome too.
|
ticket bought :-)
there's probably some more nice bands added in the coming months Friday I'm going to the Cross Lynx festival, also in Eindhoven. Would have gone to a different town (probably Amsterdam) on a different night had I seen the timetable in advance. They plan 10 bloody acts all at the same time !!!???!!!! WTF is that for? And then let them play for 30 minutes. ![]() Saturday I'll be at a Bach Cantate Next week 2x Bill Callahan |
Thurston Friday
Bill Callahan Saturday |

I can vouch for The Cosmic Dead, Teeth of the Sea and Gnod being worth seeing live (especially The Cosmic Dead!) and I'm keen on seeing Anthroprophh and Terminal Cheesecake. In short, most of the Rocket Recordings stuff is cool http://rocketrecordings.bandcamp.com/ http://thecosmicdead.bandcamp.com ... and you should probably check out Radar Men From The Moon, considering they are from your hometown. Not super original, but a decent live band nevertheless. I think that Cross Linx thing was in Rotterdam yesterday or the day before. I would've liked to see Lubomyr Melnyk, but I'm not forking out €35 or whatever for the indie schmindie bands that came with it. |
