NICE. The album cover looks like a companion piece to Lee's Between The Times And The Tides. |

Exactly my thoughts too! :) I'm really psyched about it, probably best side-project from any SY-member in a very while.. and oh, is this band the exact same line-up as thurston have used on his solo-gigs? Kinda think I recognize em all from earlier this summer. |
Quote:
Yup. Its just his live band that he slapped a name onto about a year ago. I hope they play some songs from Psychic Hearts in addition to the new CLM songs. I'm crossing my fingers that they might play something from Trees... but I'm not getting my hopes up too much because I doubt it. |
^ Something from Trees would be kickass....as I fucking LOVE that album.
JUST GOT MY CLM TICKET! Missed out on the $10 ticket deal...BUT OH WELL!!!!! |

When I saw him last year he played "Never Day" and "Fri/End"... Of course, they weren't Chelsea Light Moving yet; "Groovie & Linda" was the only new song on the set. He also covered "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)" and a bit o' "Rock Lobster"! Kurt Vile & The Violators opened! What a night! ![]() |
if I knew about the namechange, I'd seen em live in gothenburg a week before I saw them earlier this summer. They did an extra gig, I read about it before but didn't check it out, then later hear that it was thurston moores band..fml.

When I saw him last year in Febuary played "Fri/End" and "Never Day" but his set was heavy Psychic Hearts and Demolished Thoughts. They weren't quite Chelsea Light Moving then so none of those songs were played. It was part of that last little tour he did for Demolished Thoughts. I'm hope he'll play at least a song or two from Psychic Hearts on this new tour. Ever since I heard "Burroughs," I feel the CLM material is very similar to Psychic Hearts. I don't understand why he never plays Frozen Gtr, The Shape Is A Trance, and Silver>Blue, and Wonderful Witches + Language Meanies never get played. |

Just gave it two listens. "Heavenmetal" + "Sleeping Where I Fall" are the highlights for me, beautiful vocals and melodies in the first one underlined with some pretty good lyrics, the second one is a nice burner with a groovy riff. Also the heavy breakdown in "Alighted" was surprising for me.

Glad to see T rockin' again
|
I now know what I'll be listening to nonstop until March 2nd...
|
Listening now. This is actually pretty goddang sick.
|
I'm definitely surprised how much I like this on first listen. Nice to hear that Thurston still brings the rock.
|
This is really cool. Sounds akin to Psychic Hearts on some tracks. I say Yes!
|
can you pre-order the album yet?
|
I haven't seen a link anywhere to order it.
--Edit Thank you google, but this one is by Pavement. You can also order it from Insound |
Ye....I found it on the Matador site.
I was confused at first because they didn't have a section for 2013 releases. |
|
Wow this is pretty sick -- has the heaviness i was craving from a project of his
Nice to stream on this, the day of my bornz :D |

Kim and Steve are the most interesting members post-SY for sure.
|
Howdy, posting in hopes someone can confirm or deny. 8 songs on the LP...plus 2 tracks on 7"....10 songs on cd...i've searched every japanese retailer and there are the same 10 songs on cd...i kill most threads i post in and i'm hopeful that isn't the case here
|
here is more....7" is apparently a permanent thing ..LP has different order than the CD.....LP has more artwork ...Two printed inner sleeves....7" has a picture sleeve as well..dig it !
|
Are the versions of the songs released last year the same as on the LP? No problem if they are, just wondering and i've got a crap connection.

Thurston Moore's new band, Chelsea Light Moving, are swinging by Other Music on Sunday, March 3, to perform an in-store before hitting the road for their month-long tour. We have to say that their self-titled debut is awesome and the group will have copies for sale that night, a few days before its official release on Matador. This one's not to be missed, so we'll see you a week from Sunday! SUNDAY, MARCH 3, 7:30 P.M. OTHER MUSIC: 15 E. 4th St. NYC |

You're perfectly entitled to not like it, I'm just wondering why |
$41 to have it delivered to France... ouch !
I'll wait to get it cheaper somewhere later... these new shipping costs are crazy |
I've got 2 tickets to the Chelsea Light Moving show at Maxwell's on March 2nd that I must sell. Face value $20 each NO SERVICE FEES OR TAXES! I will UPS overnight them to ya at no extra cost because I can't be there to sell them at the door. I'm losing about $20 on this deal but i don't want them to go to waste. Send me an email at MoreFulton@gmail.com and we can work out the details.
