As you can see, I mention the actor's name, who happens to be the same actor that play's "Ali G". By making this association, it is clear that I am well aware that both "Ali G" and "Borat" are played by the same person.

I think you maybe taking this thread a little too seriously, possibly jumping to conclusions a bit prematurely, too premature that you really haven't read any of my comments very clearly.

is it a "nationality" thing where you've acquired a certain identity that you feel aligned with and feel the need to "defend" it when your nationality feels threatened by inferiority in another country's pop culture?

It's you who is taking this thread seriously. I asked a couple of simple questions without any motive, and you wrote me a novel full of assumptions telling me what I am and what I'm saying.

Plus, we have them shows you speak of. I don't find Chris Rock overally funny. I mean, he is funny, but he's not as great as you make out.

Oh, well.

hey, relax. it's just a thread. try not to turn this thing into a "ENGLAND vs US" thing. if you like ALI G/BORAT/SASCHA COHEN, then great for you. just don't make ridiculous assumptions about the US when you don't really have a good understanding of the culture here.

again, it's not that "Americans are late on the 'Ali G bandwagon'". it's just a different type of comedy that hasn't appealed to most americans, that's all.

the US has much respect for british comedy, especially Benny Hill & Monty Python, so don't think the reason why sascha cohen isn't very popular in the US is because he's from Europe. it's because he's just not as creative as other comedians or television personalities these days.

for the record: chris rock is far more entertaining than sascha cohen. if you don't think so, then something is wrong with you. put aside your nationality for a second and i'm sure as much as you'd hate to admit it, chris rock is much funnier.

Well you can see it as an insult if you like. Or you could see it as what it is - the truth. An insult would be more if I were to post: You're an idiot who has no fucking clue.

EMMAh 11.18.2006 06:46 PM

I saw it last weekend and fell asleep. I don't think it was because it was boring, I was just really tired.

Those words don't work right in the same sentence.

Wrong. Nationality makes no difference, Chris Rock makes "jokes" (if you can call them that) about being married, black, or married and black. That is it.
"Black people are different than white people! White people are all nerds!" *audience breaks into laughter for some reason.
"I hate being married! Marriage sucks! My wife annoys me!"
*audience breaks into laughter for some reason.

You haven't seen Chris Rock, have you?

Talk about ignorance. you got a guy like "k-krack" who has never seen any of Chris Rock's movies, shows, or stand-up specials have a wrong generalization of him. how do i know he's never seen Chris Rock's work before? it all shows in his comments.

or should i be surprised.

btw, are you racist?(just wondering)

Try to make a sentence relevant to the coversation, instead of repeating yourself over and over with a quote.

Point out to me where I insulted you? Are you referring to: You're an idiot who has no fucking clue ? That was a hyperthetical, an example of what an insult would have been. And you're making it ring true more and more with each post.

khchris(original) 11.18.2006 08:39 PM

are you mad because i am American and most Americans don't find Ali G funny?

why do you care whether or not Americans like Sascha Cohen's work? you seem extrememly bent on it.

call me what you want. i think you're funny. i don't need to call names to get under your skin. all i have to do is repeat the funny things you say.

k-krack 11.18.2006 08:40 PM

Ok, khchris, you got me. I am a far-right racist. I have never seen any of Chris Rocks movies, tv shows or comedy specials, especially not Pootie Tang, Dogma*, Osmosis Jones, Madagascar, Everybody Hates Chris, and the comedy specials that have been on comedy central time and time again. Fuck off.

DISCLAIMER: That was all sarcastic, except the "Fuck off," I meant that.
*Good movie, Kevin Smith= the man, Chris was at least standable in it.

Well considering this thread, alot of people find him funny. Infact, it was an American who started this thread.

You repeat what others say because you don't have anything to say yourself.

Explain what he meant? Because all you've did so far is pick at peoples typos when using his quote. That would suggest you missed the point.

i don't need to say very much. all i need to do is expose who you are through your funny comments.

it can mean several things.

Once again you ignored a response that related to the conversation. You remind me of Crypto, although he's nowhere near annoying.

Answer: I'm not.

Question: Where did I say I cared?

Rhetorical question as I know I didn't. It was just your feeble attempt at an insult.

k-krack 11.18.2006 08:50 PM

Right now this is beyond Sascha Baron Cohen, so answer the damn question, you fool.
