No problem, man.

I really enjoyed it. I hadn't seen Kim outside of SY since Mirror/Dash 6-7 years ago and never in such a small venue. They played about 40 minutes, I think it was about 4 different "songs"... well, I guess it was mostly improvised, but I'm listening to your recording now and recognise fragments of lyrics.

I liked Dennis Tyfus' set too, even though it was really short. By the way, the 7-inches were in no way sold out at the show, so I guess they'll be available online at some point.

On my way out I passed Kim standing near the exit. I wondered if I should say something, then just uttered a soft-spoken "thank you". I got a smile and a "thanks" in return. aawww. :o

Thanks for this, was really looking forward to the video. Great work!

Amazing Jef!
Thank you so much for doing this...

Tokolosh 03.11.2012 05:51 AM

Nice one, Jef!

Too bad I couldn't film the Amsterdam show.
Was away on business in Asia.

hirsute_biped 03.11.2012 04:58 PM

awesome vid. any shots or reports regarding what amps they are using? i have guess but i'd like to know. pretty killer tone and vib/trem

hipster_bebop_junkie 03.11.2012 05:49 PM

Yeah, thanks again for the video, Jef. Absolutely brilliant.

hirsute_biped, judging by some of the sets of pictures on flickr linked a few pages back, they are using Fender amps: either Twin Reverbs or Super Reverbs. I'm no gear expert, so I'm not sure, though. Maybe you can figure it out if you take a look at the pics. There are some close shots of Kim's pedals, too.

Yeah. They don't come here way too often, though. I'm really craving to see and hear Kim soon. Last time I saw her was when Sonic Youth performed in Mexico City in 2007. A lifetime has passed since then. I'll understand any reasons they might have to not visit this place too frequently, though.

Anyway, I'm ready to have a blast at Indie-O Fest, and then I have a great string of live shows to go to, so I'm happy with what I have to be happy with. :)

Yeh, I saw that. And the fact that Keenan has the inside scoop makes me hope it's something related to Instal or another of these Glaswegian Volcanic Tongue approved events.
