Great comp! Remixes by Spooky, Arto, Miho, Scanner, and Björk's cover. Gotta pick this up.

just as an update and so that folks will know - will indeed be holding back a smallish stash of these LPs for direct mail order sales to non-US addresses. info re: how to purchase them will be including on our update mailing list - to get added to the list shoot me a line at info AT threelobed.com. we will not have info up on this one online otherwise most likely due to the numbers that will be available. otherwise, the LP is a US-only RSD exclusive (and due to that fact i'll only be doing mail order to non-US folks - US folks will need to track the record down via their friendly neighborhood RSD-participating retailer).

I'm not sure, but judging by how fast it sold out I'd say under 100, maybe even 50 or less, this is just a guess and I'll probably find out exactly how many when I receive my copy. maybe it will get a second release at some point....

stu666 03.05.2012 03:52 PM

new Body/Head sometime this year hopefully and I've heard there's going to be someone else collaborating with them but can't say any more at the moment...

Lazewski 03.08.2012 05:03 PM

I'm still waiting for the Experimental Jet Set (Deluxe) / Evol (Deluxe). Are there any plans for these?

threelobed 03.15.2012 07:45 AM

with respect to the two upcoming sy-related three lobed titles...

-glacial- all of the final details are starting to get wrapped up on this one. all of the art is in hand, the mastering on the overall LP has been wrapped up and we should be ironing out one or two mastering points on some bonus tracks in the next day or two. once that is done everything will be in hand and i'll start up the machine - tests and all of that. look for a better estimate of release soon but probably about 3-ish months from now.

-lee's contribution to the "eight trails, one path" record store day compilation LP - we've been getting some sample manufacturing photos on the covers in here the last few days and these things look sick. everything is on time on this one - vinyl (and likely covers) should be in my hands for assembly within the next 10 days. again, this one is a US only RSD exclusive. if you are *not* in the US and interested in this title i highly suggest you get on the three lobed update list as we will be mail-ordering a limited quantity of these out to non-US folks. information will be in our next mailing list update.

Lee Ranaldo has a track on this LP: Sound and Vision: Beyond Reason

"Catalog" of Contour Biennial of the Moving Image 2011 (Belgium)
Cover by Leah Singer
Lee Ranaldo: Sight Unseen Excerpt (for Brion Gysin and Carl Friedrik Reutersward) (10:34)
other artists include Chicks on Speed and Cory Arcangel.
12" 33rpm LP in custom sleeve with silk screened clear jacket
Limited edition (500)

threelobed 03.29.2012 08:17 AM

i know i've mentioned it on here a time or two before, but the three lobed recordings record store day LP (with a track from lee ranaldo) is a US exclusive. while that's true, we are holding a decent number back for international mail order so that folks don't get shut out just based on where they live. these international mail order copies will be going on sale *this sunday* (april 1) and instructions for ordering will be within our mailing list update that goes out that day. you must be on our mailing list in order to have this information. get in touch with me if you would like to be on the list but are not currently.

in other SY news, the glacial (lee, david watson, tony buck) audio is almost completely nailed down mastering wise. i'll let you all know when that's true and can give you an estimated release date at that time. soon!

the link did work when Moshe first posted it but the record it linked to was sold out which is probably why the link is now dead. I think it was a re-release of this http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/sho...ight=deathbomb but if I remember correctly the record Moshe linked to was just a single 12" with different cover/artwork...

Am I right Moshe?

toxic johnny 04.09.2012 06:46 AM

Yes you're right because I snapped it up! :)

I think my (former) copy is still on sale at Academy in Williamsburg -

Lazewski 04.09.2012 03:30 PM

Oh! I seen at Hastings this "Sonic Youth covers" album, I think it was Kill Yr Idols with a white cover, I remember someone on here talking about it. Turns out it was bands that just did covers of SY tunes. I should have picked it up.

The same thing happened to me... I emailed them and ended up keeping the US BTT&TT vinyl (I already had the European version) and re-ordering the Sound And Vision 12"

Someone has their wires crossed at Kung Fu I think!
