OUT NOW ON WAVES OF DECAY (http://wavesofdecay.blogspot.com):
![]() ROBE. - NIGHT TERROR. $10, limited to 70, double casette. There's a shipping cost but he also put out a Demonologists and a Skin Graft tape and if you order those, you can get this one cheaper. Just go to that blog. ANYWAY, there's a wonderful review for it here: http://killedincars.com/post/877324617/robe ...but the main thing is, I just want to personally say that this is the best Robe. album we've ever done. There is tribal drumming, black metal tremolo picking, distant ghost melodic moaning, and the star of the album is trombones, trumpets, and saxophones on every track. This is the most melodic album we've ever made, extremely minimal and lonely. Unlike a lot of Robe. albums, it isn't really awash in dark noise as much... there's some quiet droning, but the album is based around very very delicately played, highly melodic horns. Anyway, in my mind, this is our best album, the one we've always been working to make, and will be the last one for a while (er, forsaken is coming out on NOISE NOT MUSIC and the UUUUU split is coming out on Dream Root, but...). We're going to have to drastically change our sound if we want to continue. But who knows -- maybe we won't continue, maybe this will be our final document. Either way, if you've ever wanted a good place to start.. or if you've just been waiting for Robe. to make a good album... check it out. It's on double casette, which only adds to its ghostly sound, but I can share the mp3's eventually if anyone wants me to (I have them in 320/48, which is like 398mb!). Enjoy. |
i like the sound of that adam, i've just ordered it. i would like the mp3's too when you can upload them.
|
wow thanks stu! I appreciate it, and I can gurantee that you won't be disappointed.
Here's what I'll do, I'll set up a torrent with night terror mp3's sometime this week and post it on here, if anyone wants it in mp3. Since it's rather large, I can't really upload it easily to any file sharing sites except for megaupload, and even then it'd be a huge ass rar file, which might be inconvenient to people with slower computers (all that extracting and decompreessing). Thanks again! Me and Kyle are both SUPER into file sharing and we don't care how people distribute our work or whatever; I think this is one album that would definitely benefit from being heard on tape, though. I don't have any actual copies to trade/sell yet, Kyle usually gets them but I haven't, uh, talked to him. So, if anyone was wondering about that... well... we'll see! Kyle usually just gives me a couple to do with what I want, he keeps the rest. And we'll sell some at shows or whatever. |
I'm going to purchase NIGHT TERROR very soon... and possibly BLEAK so I can sport some rad ROBE. buttons and stickers. Yeah.
My favourite Robe. album is The Third Cinder actually. |
I don't understand how to order it through the waves of decay site.
I'm an idiot. Thank you. |
haha you gotta email the dude.
thanks guys. |
You, and your silly black markets...

no problem!
as many of you know, I'm 100% for file sharing -- so is Kyle! -- we just want people to hear it. feel free to post on blogs, torrent sites, burn for friends, sample... we don't care... |
Thanks for uploading. Really enjoying it. Might just have to buy it on tape. I don't think I've bought a tape since Michael Jackson's HIStory!
|
i got Bleak today with 2 Robe. badges and a sticker! it also came with a free "Jumbo's Killcrane" cd. :)
|
Awesome, stu! Thanks again for all the support!! Hope you feel you got your money's worth :)

Damn that sucks guys -- he hasn't sent us our promo copies yet either, though last week he emailed kyle and said "Next week". Hmm. If we don't hear anything soon, I'll have kyle email him again.
|
Yeah I've not received mine.

I'd suggest emailing him and asking what's up, though I'm sure they'll be sent soon...
|
what's his email address? is it the same as the paypal? tuscolords@hotmail.com

for those who missed the torrent
http://www.archive.org/details/Robe....06To10-10-2010 here is the complete robe. discography over the course of 4 years, 4 days, and 4 months. 6gb of Robe. You can download the entire discography in one click. You can resume it later, too. Or, if you get getright (type it into google, you can get a 300kb version of it for free), you can download a bit, turn it off, get it later, etc, like a torrent. Also, there is a movie that is made completely with Robe.'s music, called FRACTURE. In preproduction, the movie was just called ROBE. It started out as an abstract no budget documentary but became a film-film later. It took 3 years to make. It was a collaborative effort between me and Kyle, though he used his camera and did the editing, and this was waaaaaaay before I decided to make films. http://www.archive.org/details/FractureVersion3.0 Anyway, I act, do the music, and helped him with story, production, driving, whatnot. We both came up with scenes and stuff. I consider it pretty much completely his film in the end as it has little in common with my stuff, so yeah. It's interesting how the film grew and changed over the course of 3 years. Anyway, thats just about it from Robe. phase I, aside from some live videos, a belated real documentary on the band (including clips from the 24 hour concert we did that was shut down by the police), and a couple other things. If we can, uh, do it, Robe. phase II will be a completely different beast... enjoy. |
hey everyone
