I see late night, but not prime time.
What do you do? |
Quote:
Actually, "PT" stands for prime time - it's somewhere along the percentage amounts in the middle of the page. I'm a media planner in a media agency. I plan the advertisement schedule of what you see in between movies. |
on what channel?
|
Local channels. We have 5 main channels in my country - 2 national broadcasting ones, 2 private ones and one news channel (something like BBC)
Other than that, I also plan radio and online broadcasting, print ads and outdoor media (billboards, non-standard media and such) |
what about 1 frame gags?
do you do them? :) |
what's that?
|
put a pornographic or whatelse picture into the broadcast, but just for one or maximal 2 frames. the viewer will not recognize it directly, but he saw it, and his brain will get notice. its quite disturbing.
coca cola did that while screening movies in cinemas, it doesnt interrupt the movie but you start to develop thurst, especially for the taste of coke. they prohibited that in almost all countries |
that'd work.
i'll conquer the world. |
it works really! it was reality for a long time it was called subconsious-advertising or something similar. but its more fun with totally fucked images, hrhrhr
|
like, i will develop thurst for anal pleasures?
|
you should flash this to the viewers

that would be an artform for itself |
an analform, so to say
|
or posting pictures of you, and they will get the SLAVOTHURST

So are you the person to blame when they see two of the same commercial in one run? |
Exactly. Not in Canada, though.
Sometimes I even wonder than I concentrate more on the commercials and their structure and schedule than the movies themselves when watching TV. That's what a 9-to-5 life does to you, man :) |
That's pretty crappy. The commercials are the worst part of TV.

but psychological maybe the most interesting |

absolutely. however, I'm more into creative outdoor advertising, new media & shit. sometimes it feels like street art, even. |
beamers and stuff? or what do I have to imagine?
|
out of the top of my head:
moving boards in-store advertising (shelves, floor stickers and so) fictious websites & guerilla marketing and other wicked shit (let's take an example. we were preparing a Christmas campaign for a telecom operator a couple years ago. imagine there is a giant Christmas tree on our main square in Bratislava evey December. So one of my colleagues had an idea to put big paper boxes looking like Christmas presents underneath the tree, all wrapped up in company colours of that company and yada yada yada.it was pretty successful) |
I believe you.
I am really interested in that kind of stuff. guerilla marketing, thats pretty interesting. I am coming more from the arty way, the less commercial way, but a friend and I were rolling a 500 meter roll of paper which we colored pink first down one of the not so bog mountains here it looked really surreal to see a pink line running down a huge hill. btw it has no meaning back then we were 16 :) but it looked great a little bit off tpoic but it came to y head |
the meaning is what makes it stunning.
and i don't see a point in drawing a line between commercial/non-commercial. when it's good and catchy and i see it somewhere and then it turns out to be a commercial, I just say "Fuck, that's good" and the brand/producer gets my imaginary pos rep (transported into higher interest-to-buy ratio) |
yeah I didnt want to draw a line there!
I just wanted to say that I was too young that it could have anything to do with commercial things like corporations. but it would have fit for the german telekom. their logo is a magenta "T". and I totally agree with you about that. |
i know what you're saying about the big fucking magenta T.
T-Mobile was my main client for 2 years. No more, fortunately. |
they are one of the most unorganised corporations I know as far as I can say that. they do so much wrong...
|
and have a KGB-resembling structure of responsibility.
fucking assholes. I'm switching my mobile provider to O2 :) night to you, king al-hasan |
yeah good night. sleep well
