|
The results will probably come tomorrow or Thursday. I'd like some more votes of course but it's pretty consistent as it is already...
|
I looked through my record collection. I was flumoxed as to which ones to choose, let alone five. It turns out I've got a lot, but which ones are best I have no idea. Spoilt vote I'm afraid.
|
its better to not look at your records. your memory is kind of a natural filter for the fillers, it remmebers only the killers....omg

LA is my favorite album of the year by far

oh, sorry about that. if that is case let me rephrase: In no particular order: Stephen Malkmus-Face the Truth Silver Jews-Tanglewood Numbers Mogwai-Mr. Beast The Sea and Cake-Everybody Sonic Youth-Sonic Nurse Ugly Casanova-Sharpen Your Teeth Pinback-Summer in Abaddon Verbena-La Musica Negra Built to Spill-Ancient Melodies of the Future. Radiohead-Hail to the Thief I don't think Radiohead has never made a "weak" album. Just different. And right now, I prefer Hail to the Thief to Kid A. I'm not saying ones better or worse, because with Radiohead, all of their albums are great, but they are drastically different. My favorite Radiohead album changes almost every two months. Although, In Rainbows has never been my favorite. But I respect it, and think it's great. It just hasnt grown on me like the others have. Kid A and Hail to the Thief I connected with immediately because they not only lived up to the excitement of a new Radiohead Album, they went beyond expectations. |
Los Angeles/Reset and his remix of that Lil Wayne song, are all amazing... I feel like a badass mofo when i bump that in my car.
|
Thanks cars_willkillyou :)

Well I voted for two of those (Wilco and Radiohead). Also hate to be the one to break it to you, but as discussed earlier, Vision Creation Newsun came out at just the tail end of 1999, or else it would have been real high on mine and atsonicparks's lists. |
Yes, definitely.

I love pre-good news modest mouse, and I think Holopaw is fantastic. When I'm in the mood to listen to Holopaw, there's nothing else that I know of that is close to their sound. I wish Isaac Brock would leave Modest Mouse for awhile, and play with Ugly Casanova for 2 albums, hell even just one album. I just want Modest Mouse to be good again. |

But I guess that would require some obnoxious shifting around, even if it did pass. I will have only 9, then. In protest. |
Bump bump bump! It's still time to vote everybody, but only for a few hours :)
|
when exactly will you put out the results?
|
Uh, in like three or four hours.
|
I’ve cast my vote some minutes ago and cannot stop thinking of albums that were equally deserving of being included in my list of 10.
I eventually came up with quite a random list. I could not think of albums from this ongoing decade that really stand out: I could think of a lot of albums of this decade that I really like, but had no idea on how to rank them. I must admit I am not good at ranking albums/bands in general, but I guess in that case it is also due the fact that the decade is still ongoing and this all seems too recent: one probably needs more time to realise the greatness of an album… Anyway, I'm rooting for "Endless Summer", which I have not listened to in quite some time, now that I think about it. |
ohh crap you all take this too fucking serious, i didn't analyze all the albums that have come out in the last 8 years and balance them in a scale or any of that shit, i just made a list of albums that rule, period.
in fact, i pretty much forgot what albums i voted for. |
thats a great one of course, only got a promo copy, is the album art worth buying it?
|
I would need to order it, cause here isnt any good record store around
