point proved.

let us bask in the glory of our culture now that everyone has been following that advice for a few decades.

im pretty sure that if i were to go on saying the things im saying here, i'd get the ratio of "people respond to the points" to "people turn it into a personalized referendum on me" down to 0-1.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 06.27.2014 09:02 PM

I'm pretty sure that if you weren't so damned negative and scathing all the time maybe people wouldn't make it a personal issue and would hear you out. Also to be sure, everybody already DID respond to all your points, and you shitted on it (or should I use BBC English and say shat?) with your uber positive attitude ;)

Nick, you seem to be the person who's worried the most about all this.
You also point out that you're young and hate the old in every other sentence you write, like anyone actually cares about you or what is going to happen to you. I know, people are bad etc. Get over it. Most of us don't care about you or what is happening to you. You're rude and not very charming.
Being stupid and stubborn makes you tiring more than offensive, which is boring. bORINGbORINGbORINGbORINGbORINGbORINGbORINGbORING

i see your nonchalant attitude and conviction that anyone who criticizes is the problem as a reflection of the quality of your output.

Mortte Jousimo 06.28.2014 12:24 AM

I´ve said also this before, but I am going to say also this again. Being totally negative is not the same as being critical. Totally negative persons just poison everybody and everything round them.

I really don`t like life around me (I mean the way most people are living these days & the direction where the whole world is going, not my personal life). But I still try to life this life in this moment. And also I don`t think things were better in the past.

You must spread some Deal With It meme shades around before giving them to Mortte Jousimo again.

im a dog person.
im still pretty lame with music.
it bothers me, so probably that doesnt mean i m not interested in music.
yesterday, it occured to me that i lost interest in the swans.
im having the longest bardo pond period in my life*.
also im positive i ll get old persons knees pretty early in my life, because of the way i sit on my knees. you know streching the skin like that all the fucking time.

*thought that i might need someone to unjinx me - but you know, whatever.

A Thousand Threads 06.28.2014 06:01 AM

Sometimes i wonder what people expect from music.
paper hats?

Nefeli 06.28.2014 06:42 AM

endless massages for free?

Stijn 06.28.2014 08:10 AM

I tihink I'm still into music the way I was 10 years ago. Now and then I can still discover something great that gets me going for a couple of months. The only thing that bothers me a little is the lack of a real culture for the good stuff around here. Well probably there is one I just haven't found it yet.

I do feel like it's getting harder te find something really exciting as years pass. Also I used to 'save' music, special albums I really wouldn't want to get tired of, for special occasions. But I realise now that's a stupid idea, there's a time window for everything and you should get the most out of it while it lasts.

Have you heard Paul Simon's last album So Beautiful, So What? Of course not. Nevertheless, wiki sez:

The album debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 68,000 copies in its first week, serving as Simon's highest debut on that chart.

The old folks demographic strikes.

Meanwhile, Britney's last album sold 209,000. Total.

25 years ago to debut at #4 you would have to sell over 250,000 copies In today's climate Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation would be a number one hit!!!!

this last year was poor in listening to music as for me, but it will change with the forthcoming pennywise album. generally speaking i'm not afraid of lacking music anymore as i could have been in the 90's. now I know that I can live without music as it happened these last 12 months

Nefeli 07.04.2014 12:55 PM

i unjinxed myself from bardo pond that very day and yesterday, i had the great idea to listen to classical music. and now i moved to ubuweb/sound and hopefully will stay for long there.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 07.04.2014 12:58 PM

Interestingly I realized that I haven't been listening to music less by proportion of my time, just chasing new music, new bands, new records, and in particular live shows much less...

I still listen to music about 2-5 hours out of any given day

evollove 07.04.2014 01:21 PM

I don't know if I should bring this up, but whatever. Ban me.

Has anyone ever tried smoking pot? I did.

Go ahead, call the cops.

Anyway, I was amazed: it enhanced the pleasure of music. Like, music I already enjoyed sounded even better. The tones were more colorful and I caught sonic details that had previously eluded my ears. I remember listening to the Beatles and SY and neither band was ever better as far as I was concerned.

Anyway, I'm not saying smoke pot. I'm not going to be responsible for turning someone into a junkie. I'm just saying if you chose to do pot, why not try listening to music after you get high?

Even bad music sounds good, like that crappy new album by The Trolling Idiot.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 07.04.2014 01:28 PM

You should see what acid does to music when the parts of your brain that normally perceive vision or feeling are used for hearing and listening, meanwhile the portion of your brain normally used for hearing is trying to make sense of what that smell was ;)
