Otherwise, I entirely agree. Like I say, I inherited it.

uhhhbluhhh. i don't really have much valuable stuff. well, valuable to other people, i guess. i have an mj picture sleeve, maybe that's worth something on e-bay? i also have macca feat. michael. why am i not jumping that recent death train?
top three things i'd sell if i was really super desperate for money, not that any are worth much: 1) guitars 2) tiny, cheap, battered record collection 3) kidneys! |
I own the Minutemen's first release, the Paranoid Time EP, 7" Orange vinyl. Near mint condition, I guess, it plays great. That's probably the rarest thing I've got, as I've never seen it anywhere else. I've also got a lot of original REM vinyl from the 80s but thats probably more mass-produced. Same goes for early Public Enemy and Beastie Boys 12" singles.

My husband was given an extensive record collection by his father. We've got all kinds a good shit..BB King live at Cook County Prison...The Beatles (including Rubber Soul, Yesterday & Today, Revolver & The Magical Mystery Tour)... John Lennon and Yoko Double Fantasy...Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks...Rolling Stones Beggars Banquet....Alot a Led Zepplin...SY Hold That Tiger..Paul McCartney Bowl of Cherries...3 Jimmy Hendrix albums..I can't remember the rest I would think these would be worth something. I also have a bar napkin that Duff McKagan signed. |
I have too many "rare" LPs to get into it in detail, really.
My amplifier is very rare, as is the one-of-a-kind custom acoustic hybrid instrument I had built just for me. I also have a few pieces of furniture that would be nearly impossible to replace. I acquire things first and foremost for my own enjoyment though, and if they become "valuable" later, it's a bonus. I rarely sell any of my "valuable" stuff anyway. |
iv'e got a les paul jr my uncle took off of cheetah chrome because he owed him money
|
That's pretty cool.
I also have a 1966 Vox Cheetah that I bought 20 years ago. I would have a tough time replacing it. |
vox cheetah? that is so cool. pic?

I don't use it that much anymore, but I'll never sell it. I use the Gibson ES 335 all the time these days; it's better for the super-heavy sound I require in the music I play now, but still has that same body shape that I love. That Vox was my main guitar for years and years. It has built-in fuzz, repeater, bass/treble boost and E tuner. I wish it had the hand-wah that many of its contemporary models had, but you can't have everything.
|
Thats a guitar i always heard about but never played. The ES335 is probably better in every way, but shit, thats a cool guitar to own.

my Thunderbolt Pagoda album.
feel free to offer me a 1,000 pesos...I won't be selling. now...2,000 pesos...maybe. |
I swear you'll be able to retire off that thing someday.
Provided you don't require food, shelter or heath care in your twilight years. |
