Anti-Orgasm, actually. Good dose of Kim and Thurston bliss, sublimely crap lyrics, sexy edge, noisey inprovised outro - and lots more things that define Sonic Youth very well.

Even though it's such a recent track, I really feel that Massage the History defines who they been and will continue to be as a band.
Other than that - Expressway to Yr Skull. Hands down, Kotton Krown, Trilogy |
"Santa Doesn't Cop Out On Dope" for the win!

Love this question...... I always think about this and have to say, it's impossible to narrow down because the beauty of SY is that they cover so many moods and intensities. But, I digress..... If I had to coin it, it'd be either:
•*Teenage Riot or • Schizophrenia but I'd also consider some songs that involve their signature building wall of sound with dual'ing, climbing octaves as only SY do: Theresa's Sound World; Washing Machine; Radical Adults Lick....; Dirty Boots; Expressway; etc....... |
Chapel Hill or Pattern Recognition

I'd go with Diamond Sea. Melodic yet noisy and long. SYR meets Geffen. Or something like that. |

Goo was the first CD I bought and Mote was the song that I could not stop playing. That's the song that hooked me. Within a month I had six SY CD's
