I would've said Nas' Illmatic too, but I did actually buy It Was Written. Foolishly.

1. The Infamous is a masterpiece. Though I would say that HELL ON EARTH is actually very good, nothing else came close, save for Prodigy's RETURN OF THE MAC from 2007. But still...

2. It Was Written was a let down. And so were a lot, but he has sort of returned to almost form with his last few. But still...

Built to Spill - Perfect from Now On I feel like they completed their whole purpose in that one record.

This shit make sno sense to me. It is as ridiculous to me as liking one song by someone and never bothering to try and hear an album;s worth of music from them. it wis what posers (yeah, I said it) do basically. come on people! If I get an album by someone and I like it, I will definitely seek out another album by them. it makes no sense not to!

I wonder how much of this you feel like you need to say, in spite of practice, out of requirement of your own self-obsession of not being accused a poser.

It is what posers do, basically.

I love Ghost's self titled album, but I don't know if I'll ever get another of their albums. I'd like to, but it looks like my Boris and Malice Mizer obsessions will leave me without much money to spare.

I agree.

I think There's Nothing Wrong With Love is better, although Perfect From Now on has some fantastic songs on it.

I've owned Illmatic for about 12 years and I love it completely, but I've never really thought about buying any other Nas records

I'd say "Leave Home" and "Rocket To Russia" are neck and neck in quality. I just heard Leave Home yesterday and love it

Stooges FunHouse is pretty solid too, I actually have not heard Raw Power, but really enjoy FunHouse

Elastica - Elastica

Still one my favourite records ever. I wanted to buy their second album, which accidentally contains their best song (My Sex), but never got round to it because I've listened to a copy at a friend's house, once, and thought it was a bit shit.

that's my 2nd favorite. "You Were Right" is perhaps the pinnacle of Doug Martsh's songwriting.
