Hello soniknirve,
I'll do the best I can. My first deck was a Toy Mcahine, & that lasted quite a while. Shorty's makes good decks. Flip, Black Label. Good wheels, Spitfire, Ricta, Pig. Good Trucks, Independent, Grind King, Krux, Royal Trucks.
Godd shoes, EMERICA, that is the only skate shoe you should ever buy. I just bought the Templeton 3 model, & it is the best skate show I've evr used, & I've been skating for 5 years. Good bearings, BONES. Just like Emerica, they should be the only brand of bearings you get. & Shorty's hardware for that matter as well. Griptape, Black magic. I could go on & on.

only question i have regarding skateboarders is why do they have such a bad sense of humour?

RdTv 03.27.2006 08:51 AM

;)thanks marleypumpkin. *notepad out...

marleypumpkin 03.28.2006 01:25 AM

Hey. no problem. Definetly go to www.toymachine.com to see some great skateboarding art, & the SY of skateboarding, Ed Templeton. (founder of Toy Machine)

LifeDistortion 03.28.2006 08:02 PM

I like that part at the end of Tom Petty's video "Free Fallin' " when the valley girl is skating back and forth on that ramp after all the guy skaters have down all this tricks on it, and she just goes back and forth.

John Violence 03.28.2006 08:13 PM

How many skate vids have SY been used in?

Titanium Expose-Ed Templeton-Welcome to Hell
Mote-Ed Templeton-Jump Off A Building
Diamond Sea-Montage-Jump Off A Building
Silver Rocket-Brad Staba-Nervous Breakdown
Superstar-Jerry Hsu-Bag of Suck
Catholic Block-Montage?-Streets of Fire

Does anybody know any other ones.

Skate/SY nerd fact-When Ed skates to Mote the beggining of his part is the start of Hey Joni.

I went down this hill on my deck and made it out alive, I did bust my ass though. I fell right of the white warehouse and only came out with 1st degree burns. I must have had a angel on my side. The top pic is zoomed in the bottom is with out zoom.

marleypumpkin 04.04.2006 01:28 PM

I never could do downhill skating. The fear of the board shaking like crazy always kept me away from hills. You know what I'm talking about.

Trasher02 04.04.2006 01:32 PM

downhill is awesome. Sometimes we go skating in Leuven (big city) at night when there are no cars on the road and bomb those streets. Skateboarding for life.

marleypumpkin 04.04.2006 01:36 PM

Hell yeah, Skateboarding for life. Nothing else.

In Streets Of Fire
Catholic Block is for the Turf Skatepark segment.
White Kross was used in the opening montage.

I've heard plenty of other SY songs in skate vids, but it's been so long.
I do recall Scooter & Jinx was in maybe a Foundation video.

Any older skaters remember the Turf Skatepark in Milwaukee? It had kind of a cool story:
It was and indoor park built in the 70's with a bunch of cool bowls, especially the clover bowl which had varying depths in each 'leaf'. Once the skate boom ended of that day a strip club was built over the bowls, leaving them perfectly intact. Once the strip club closed, the floors were removed and the park was opened again in the mid 80's.

I've always wanted to skate one of those old 70's skateparks with the snakeruns and big bowls. Del Mar, Upland etc...

Danny Way broke the drop in record, with 28 ft., from the Hardrock Cafe guitar.

(just thought I'd share, but I bet everyone hates Danny Way "he's not street! he's just a pussy.")

CHOUT 04.08.2006 09:22 PM

Danny Way is awesome. I get bored watching handrails. Danny's part in the DC video makes all the street parts pale in comparison.

John Violence 04.08.2006 10:35 PM

Chances are, Danny will go down as the greatest skateboarder ever. He has helped progress street and vert skating at the same time and now he has moved on and meshed them both together with the mega ramp. Danny Way did a heelflip lipslide on the mega rail. I don't think I have even seen a pro do that on a handrail.

Alex's Trip 04.08.2006 11:29 PM

I of all people should skateboard. My grandma works at Zero as an accountant and can get me lots of free stuff, but I don't skate. I got some dekcs from her and sold them for $20-$40 bucks each, depending on who was willing to pay the most.

Awesome. Does she wear all the black skull shirts and shit? That would rule.

Danny Way is the best skateboarder ever period. The DC vid super ramp rail section is unsurpassable at this point. And not to mention the Great fucking Wall Of China.

yodejelle 04.09.2006 05:51 AM

danny way is the god of skateboarding
vert skating is like 100 times more difficult then street
