Seinfeld. I really liked this show. Very entertaining. I watched it on the BBC and on Belgian channels TV1 and VT4.

I remember that episode where George tries out a taboo sexual technique on his girlfriend. The audience never exactly gets to know what he did under the sheets.

I think that's where the idea for Sex and the City was born.

I've recently wondered about the representation of New York City in television and movie fiction and how it holds up to reality. If anyone has anything to say about that. Please, go ahead.

krastian 03.24.2006 01:04 AM

Uhh Mister...Mister Steinbrenna'??? (George). Played by Larry David (Steinbrenner)......EXCELLENT!

marleypumpkin 03.24.2006 01:28 AM

Larry David did the best work of that whole show. What w/ writing, producing, & doing small things like voice overs, like George Steinbrenner

G.Costanza: George would never steal anything from the Yankees

G.Steinbrenner: No, Why would I, I own it.

G.Costanza: Well, I think it's about time for George's lunch.

G.Steinbrenner: Yes it is.

why was i never into seinfeld before? love it now and frasier which i never liked at all in the past.

atsonicpark 06.10.2009 04:08 PM

George is the best character by far.

I've seen every episode of this show at least 30 times each. I have whole episodes memorized. Best show ever, really.

godsfavoritedog 06.10.2009 04:11 PM

I never found Jerry at all funny, on the show or doing stand-up. I also agree with the dislike for Elaine. But I can still occasionally enjoy certain episodes of Seinfeld, which is a huge testament to the skills of Kramer and Costanza. Best episode ever was "Opposite George".

"Hi, my name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents"

floatingslowly 06.10.2009 04:14 PM

favorite episode: The Doll

when that fucking thing started talking to George's dad too, I cried for an hour.

jennthebenn 06.10.2009 04:15 PM

George and Elaine by far the best. I don't get the Elaine non-love.

"He took it out."

"What?"

"He--" (Elaine blows on glasses twice) "--took it out."

atsonicpark 06.10.2009 04:22 PM

Yeah, Elaine rules. Kramer is my least favorite character. Very one-note and also extremely mean-spirited at times (I know, I know, all the characters are bad people and unlikeable in certain ways, but Kramer still always backstabs his friends and shit). I liked Jerry until the backwards episode -- where he fucks George's girlfriend. That shocked me....

My favorite episde has to be the one where George acts like he's a badass to impress a girl. Meanwhile, Jerry is conned into bootlegging movies by Kramer and Kramer's friend, and he decides that he's going to be the best bootlegger ever so he wants to set up a bunch of little cameras from all sides of the room to get all kinds of different angles. Also the same episode where Elaine's dancing is mocked for the first time. "I'm a bootlegga... I bootleg da movies..." Just priceless.

atsonicpark 06.10.2009 04:24 PM

Another one of my favorites is the one where Kramer and Jerry switch rooms and they start acting like each other. "I'm on no sleep.. NO SLEEP! ... Oh, I'm stressed!" Haha.

Worst episode, besides the recap ones, has to be the very last one. Ugh.

I also love that one line, and I've used it before... When a telemarketer calls Jerry...

JERRY: No, I'm busy right now ... oh, well, can I have your number so I can call you when you're at home?... oh, you don't want to give me your number? Well, now you see how I feel."

One time I found a copy of this book called SeinLanguage in the trash and it had all of Jerry's stand-up material from the show plus other funny ass bits. He's a clever guy. Some of his material is simplistic.. I mean, 90% of it is simple observational humor, but he's still pretty funny.

jon boy 06.10.2009 04:24 PM

i like elaine and george but then i like all of them bu those two are my favourites.

anyone ever see the oz/seinfeld scetch?

jennthebenn 06.10.2009 04:29 PM

One of my favorite exchanges on the show:

JERRY--Hello? Who is this? Donna Chang? Oh I'm sorry I must have dialed the wrong number.

ELAINE--Donna Chang?

JERRY--Should've talked to her; I love Chinese women.

ELAINE--Isn't that a little racist?

JERRY--
If I LIKE their race, how can that be racist?

jon boy 06.10.2009 04:31 PM

i like the one with the jimmy character:

jimmy likes you.
